All Ferraris sold in the United States this year will come with a special logo celebrating the company's 50-year presence in the country.

The logo combines the Ferrari symbol, the black prancing horse on a yellow background, with stars and stripes to create the number 50.

Ferrari's global sales were up 13 percent in 2003 to a record 1,350 cars. The company has set sales records for 11 consecutive years.

The 612 Scaglietti, which debuted at the show, will go on sale in Europe in February, for 200,000 euros. Shipments to the United States will begin in July. Ferrari plans to sell 600 units a year of the 612 Scaglietti and hopes sales during the eight-year life cycle of the car will exceed those of its predecessor, the 456 GT, by about 15 percent.

The United states IS the largest market in the world...for most brands. Honda makes 90% of its worldwide profits from the US alone!

No wonder then that we have car companies with a history as enviable as that of most countries...designing logos to please the American customers.

it's amazing how economics starts to rule over passion. Enzo Ferrari would have probably turned over in his grave.

They should just keep the regular badge. Even if they insist on putting this badge on their cars, it should be just a single one below the tail lamp cluster. The American flag just dosen't go with the Prancing Horse.
