2023 BMW X1 teaser gives a first glimpse of next-generation SUV

A BMW dealer in France has posted a teaser image of the upcoming next-generation X1 crossover.

2023 BMW X1 teaser gives a first glimpse of next-generation SUV-2023bmwx1teaser.jpg

The dealer has also taken to social media, inviting people for a sneak preview of the next-gen X1 on May 2, 2022. However, it is still unclear if BMW is actually planning to have a global premiere of the X1 or if it's just a private preview event by the dealer. The post by the BMW dealer doesn't reveal any other details, either regarding the event or the crossover itself.

The teaser image unveiled by the dealer does showcase the silhouette of the upcoming BMW X1 SUV. The image showcases a more angular front end with a sloping roof at the rear. The rear can also be seen with a roof-mounted spoiler and large wrap-around taillights.

The new-gen BMW X1 will come with a number of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel and hybrids. BMW has also confirmed an all-electric version, the iX1, which will arrive at a slightly later stage.

Re: 2023 BMW X1 teaser gives a first glimpse of next-generation SUV

One thing I'm glad to see from the prototypes, renders or the leaked pictures is that this doesn't have the XXL out of proportion grill. Though it does seem a little bigger than the outgoing model but I think that's fine.

I can't believe that when BMW is teasing a new car, I'm more curious about the grill rather than the car itself.

Oh what a refresh in their design language. Thank god they did not go for the ghastly open mouth grill designs.
Love the new design. Very aggressive looking even in the rear.
Guess they are rocking with the 'rocker gearshift' in all bmw's now.

Wow! Now this design is eye catchy! Compared to neither here nor there boring one of the last gen.

I like the new flat-ish grille and the overall sharp and proportionately shaped design.

P.S.
Now waiting for people who say "Flap type door handles look old school and budget grade"

Re: 2023 BMW X1 teaser gives a first glimpse of next-generation SUV

The headlamps have some resemblance to MG Gloster, either way, I like it compared to the previous one. This looks more upmarket and thankfully like all other models they have not ruined the grill on this one. The tail lamps are a good upgrade as well. It now looks closer to the price tag it comes with.

Except you only pull them if the electric latch fails or the battery dies. It's button actuated I believe, like the iX and others

Good looking car. It looks longer than what it's dimensions suggest. Rear seat is also pretty spacious for it's segment
Hope they don't remove massage seats when it comes to India.

Wow. Stupendous. Now this is a killer design both interiors and exterior. I guess GLA and probably if all features provided in Indian version, it will eat into X3 also. BMW has a hands down winner in there arsenal.

Re: 2023 BMW X1 teaser gives a first glimpse of next-generation SUV

Looks uglier on the outside than the outgoing model. The oversized front grill makes it look smaller than it is and the rear bulges outward, making it look very awkward, especially when viewed from the side. However, the interiors look good and modern which is where the previous gen lagged behind the competition. Hopefully the electric version gets launched here.

Re: 2023 BMW X1 teaser gives a first glimpse of next-generation SUV

This is a significant and fantastic upgrade from the outgoing model. Especially on the dimensions part (this new gen looks more spacious) and the xDrive part (where all the X1 models sold in India are only sDrive). Looks like BMW wants even their entry level customers in India to experience their AWD system which is a fantastic and welcoming move. Definitively a potential winner (in India) on hands for the Bayerische brand.
