Mercedes: That is the new A-class
Mercedes starts the new edition of the A-class in the autumn 2004 first with the Viertuerer. At the beginning of of 2005 is to be trimmed the compact model then with the new three-door Coup¨¦ toward sport.
The new A-class, which will still come from Rastatt, adds in length and wheel base on the level of the current long version. The body line was adapted the new Mercedes Designsprache. Received thereby the C-column moving in opposite directions and the pointed, rear side window remained.

Under the sheet metal a completely new engine generation works. The diesel engines have uniformly two litres capacity and to carry out 90, 110 and 130 HP. The Topversion under the Benzinern is a two-litre turbo-four-cylinder with 170 HP. As alternative to the manual six-gear shift there is a stepless CVT mechanism.

For more comfort a newly arranged interior, also the cockpit is to provide on a new Look was trimmed. So that the A-class of the sportier adjustment grew also chassis-laterally, a new multi-steering wheel rear axle is used, which besides the comfort in the small Benz to increase is.

the new A class does look better than the previous one. But it still looks more like a mini MPV than a car.
And did i read that right?? 2 Litre, twin turbo, 170 bhp. Now thats a HOT HATCH.

V12 : the image showed by you does look more MPV than Hatch but thats just an artists impression while the image i gave is probably more authentic. Anyways AutoBild mag usually posts stupid untrue images of concepts. Anyways you can never be sure only time will tell

ya gr thats an artists impression. but it looks very similar to the 3 dr A.
