BMW social handles hacked or just a marketing campaign for something new?

BMW's official social handles (Instagram, Twitter & Facebook) were changed to "Dee" in the early hours of December 13. The social handles started posting multiple meme-like images, leading many to believe that their accounts were hacked.

All of BMW's social media pages have removed the iconic roundel from their profile picture and replaced it with "Dee" in yellow text over a black background. The social handles have since then uploaded multiple posts. These include cryptic videos with captions like "How do I drive this thing", "I'm taking over now", and "where are my manners", among a few others, along with the hashtag "#DeeMW".

However, considering the posts have been almost identical across all its social media platforms and were posted at the same time, it seems more likely to be some sort of marketing campaign from the German carmaker. Reports even suggest that BMW could be teasing the launch of its new voice-activated driver-assistance suite. Also, based on the captions, the new tech could offer autonomous driving features or maybe even some form of AI (Artificial Intelligence) tech on its future cars.

BMW even has a separate webpage on its official site, which, although doesn't reveal any details, allows visitors to activate a subscription for more updates. BMW is expected to unveil the new tech at the upcoming CES (Consumer Electronic Show), scheduled to be held in January 2023.

Re: BMW social handles hacked or just a marketing campaign for something new?

I guess this is part of some eloborate marketing campaign as hacks across all social media at the same time might not be possible. Also, they have an option for signing up for updates on their official website where the URL has "events/nextgen2023".

May be Dee is new voice assistant or some new updated version for iDrive on the nextgen Beemers?
