The Scorpio-N that has gone on sale in South Africa looks identical to the Indian version. The SUV is equipped with twin-pod headlamps with LED daytime running lights and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

ZA likes Mahindra products. This vehicle will be priced nicely and being a strong, tough beast, will definitely succeed there.
Going by the numerous reviews of the Karoo (Getaway/ Pik Up), these seem to be quite popular and successful there.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N debuts in the South African market

Recent Mahindra cars are great products in all aspects (Engine, Safety, Features, Premium Feel, Looks). I think XUV700 | Scorpio N | Thar (they need to figure out solution to issue with Jeep) are the gateway for Mahindra to go aggressive on international.

The skateboard platform & BE (born electric brand) is their smartest move which shows their long term approach.

On topic, Scorpio-N will be great addition and leverage success of Old Scorpio | Balero | Pickup versions in SF market.

Great.

Can't wait to see how the new age products from our domestic manufacturers fare abroad.

I am pretty sure unlike the XUV700 which will be buried in a sea of crossovers, the ScorpioN will find an eager set of customers looking for a proper 4x4 BoF SUV but having to make do with 4x4 pickups instead.

Also Mahindra, do a ScorpioN on the Getaway too!!!! It needs a next generation.

M&M could consider re-designing just that rear door and make it more rounded and more aesthetically integrated with the rest of the vehicle.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N debuts in the South African market

This is a great news for Mahindra and wish them great success in SA and hope that they launch their recent products in other markets too.

But i wonder from where they can squeeze out extra production capacity to produce car for these overseas markets. The domestic delivery timelines have already crossed 12 months which their dealers never fail to boast off. Stretched delivery timelines are bragging points across brands.

Wish Mahindra planned to expanded their production capacity by now and catered to the demand when hot.

Xuv700, Scopio-N and Thar will be sales champions for Mahindra domestic and overseas for long time to come. I wish they just planned their production capacity better.
