Reports state, the British government offered incentive packages worth millions of dollars to try and attract the car brand to set up the battery plant. Tata Motors is said to have been convinced with the UK because of its skilled automotive workforce and the heritage of Jaguar Land Rover, which it owns.

The UK government had previously committed 300 million GBP to the Tata Group to subsidise, upgrade and decarbonise its facility in Port Talbot, South Wales.

Why do they set up the plant in UK when they can easily set up one in India at much lower cost

Tata Motors' global plans for their EVs in the global market will be clearer in the next one year.

More synergy with JLR expected.

I am only assuming that the their upcoming battery plant in England will also provide batteries to Tata Motors EVs in Europe.
