I voted for the underdog, AUDI.
Looking at the entire range - TT, S4, A4, A6, A8, Q7 - I find these more appealing than their rivals from the other marques mentioned here. Understated, elegant and great quality along with superb performance.
So as a marque, Audi is my favourite among the above. As a car, the Mercedes CLS55 AMG.

There is no doubt that my vote goes for mighty Merc...

There is no automobiles like the legends, the S-class & the long living G-wagon..The CLS is beauty queen...the new CL & new C r just marvelous...the new GL is a mix of G & S...the SL & SLR a sports-luxo the R is very comfortable too...

I have never understood why a good, posh expensive car has to be large.

What I'd really like is a good, posh, small car!

Regretably, Audi's small-car offering had many faults, and Mercedes's A-Class felt like it had been made by a different company.

Although bought in quite late, many have already voted and hence cant vote again! Howver mine wouldn't still change, MB. (its like those Hindi film villains dying moment, he still says one last word, the word he repeats the entire film, my case its MB!!)

Since Mercedes was in the last of your line, meaning you had a step up from BMW to Audi and then another Jump to Mercedes (then you probably thought that people will think you are fickle minded and you should keep to your original choice, so that wasn't a heartfelt option!). Your vote should go to Mercedes-Benz. Moderators, please do the honors for him before he changes his mind again.

Mercedes- Benz for me.

For the sheer presence and respect the brand commands in India.

I would go for the beemer anyday.

saw an article in a local newspaper which was featuring the review of the Volvo S80. One of the engine options available was a 4414cc engine with 315 BHP and 8 cylinders. Estimated price - INR 45 lacs. Dunno how true that pricing will be IF such a powerful car actually lands up here. They plan to sell those audi's in India.

That's the 4.4L V8 which has been developed by Yamaha for Volvo. It's featured mainly on the S80 & the XC90. Don't think the S80 will come here for 45L.

Why not add infiniti and cadillac to the scene too? Infiniti's have been equally competitive to Beemers as have Lexus.
