Next GEN cars, do we see a trend? Maserati Birdcage & SAAB AeroX

Happened to come across a picture of a '05 Maserati Birdcage, couldnt help noticing the similarities between this concept and the SAAB AeroX concept...

These NEXTGen cars (read that as concept) seems to be on the same track, out of the world dash, canopy / lifting type doors, well, not just doors, the entire hood

and they definitely should have loads of comfort features, wouldn't they?

Check these dashboards, each one better than the other... straight out of a Si-fi flick.

The controls, the cockpit... looks like they are hiring designers straight out of a movie set and letting them have their way... Comming to think of it, that is what 'concept cars' are all about

And the trendy new Canopy roofs or the so called lifting doors.

Well this one makes more sense to us urbanites, hunting for parking space in these perennially crowded malls, with every car in the parking lot squeezed 5 inches closer, (cuz you dont have to swing the door to get in/out. The door just goes up, how cool is that) we can make space for a couple of more cars on each floor and the lucky few could be you and me.

So, the i-robot days arent far away, buckle up and be ready!
