I'd be first in line for it. Heck just give me a 4 seat OHC type car with RWD...thats good enough for now.

I think the problem is that most of the so called enthusiasts are obsessed with horsepower and more and more of it and not many appreciate the value of nimbleness and handling. The closest car in spirit today is the Elise but is overpriced by $20,000. BTW, I recently drove an 800 cc RWD car...will put up the report.

I'm not sure if you've driven the S2000 but I'm certain that if you had driven it, you wouldn't have said what you have...it comes alive after 5k rpm and boy oh boy...makes you smile from ear to ear

No man never driven S2000 but i can say that Jap bikes are faster then any europian ones but they loose in terms of having character or image(need not to mention Ducati, Triumph, Aprillia, Cagiva, Moto Guzzi, MV Augusta, Benelli) same way Jap cars cant match any europian or ameriacn cars in terms of image.
BTW i am a hardcore Honda fan and rider, but feels that i could have some europian bike.
Sorry for the off topic.

This is the type of car, a teenager would give an arm and a leg for!
Fast enough to be fun.... but not fast enough to kill yourself!
atleast you wouldn't get crushed by a commercial vehicle with this thing.... it would probably pass under them!

Some more images I took that day:

Doesn't look that good from the back, but WHO CARES??

The height-adjustable IRVM, part of the roll-cage, and the latch for the hardtop:

Probably the only car Honda made that came close to the spirit of the S800 is this one:

S800 Comparison:

I was in one of these a long time ago in Mysore. Amazing little car. You only have to think where you want it to go, and it goes there. Mid-engined, 660cc, turbocharged, YEAH BABY!!!

Honda and their high revving low torque engines. They do not know how to differentiate between car and bike engines.
I think Honda engines are the 18 year old teenager of all engines.

The new one is the Honda Beat, but its mid engined. Much like Autozam. Cappuccino was the closest to this.

However there was a time even Civics were designed with passion rather than commerce.

How about the Daihatsu Copen? That one looks similar too. Cappuchino is now stopped production if I am right.

Yeah unfortunately all the micro-sports cars have been stopped except the Copen. Even the copen is FWD if I'm not mistaken.

Come to think of it, its the Cappucino that's closest in character to the S800, not the beat, mainly because of its Front engine rear drive configuration.
