A slimmer grill and a higher airdam would have changed the perception. Jaguars need to look slim, but a high waistline mars the show.

If you followed Jaguar's progress over the past years, this car shouldn't surprise the Jag faithful too much. There are certain design cues which are just not Jaguar, but, many which are.
Overall, this is a fresh, futuristic and appealing design. Even the interior is nice looking. The passenger side of the dash, though, could be made a little more interesting.
Hope they get some new engines soon.

Something for the ICEers and Navinji. The system in the Jag is from Bowers % Wilkins. More details:

I drove one yesterday when I went to their service centre to get my warranty extended.

The interiors are a huge leap forward. The powertrains are carried forward from the S-Type that it succeeds. You sit higher than in the S and refinement levels are way higher too.

I somehow didnt like the looks of the car. The front doesnt really look Jaguar-ish.

Quite true, steer.Has quite a 'VW' effect. The side profile reminds me of the Lexus GS series.

Beg to differ , TATA's had no role in this project , the car was soft launched way before the deal got through, and the first car in UK will be delivered to guess who .. Tony Blair ..

Did you know that the gear selection in this car is not via a Gear Stick or a shifter but a KNOB. It was featured on top gear.

Though it doesn't look like the classic Jag.It's so modern and stunning.I happen to see one in person in a recent Auto show in Minneapolis. It looks perfect in flesh..Nice finishing and attention to details.Though TATA doesn't have anything to do with this ,It's a great start for them. Let us hope it's going to make a difference in the JAG Financial figures :-)

Looks like Jaguar (or TATA) have a winner on their hands.
