When my wife and I were planning our visit to Perth, Australia, the first thing I checked for was all the automotive events and experiences happening in and around the area.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything happening during our stay there. Dejected I was, for I was ever so eager to witness how the local automotive scene had evolved since my last visit in 2014.
Fast-forward a few days, and the stars aligned in my favour. I stumbled across an Instagram post about a car meet scheduled for April 13th, and as luck would have it, it was set in a suburb not too far from where we’d be staying. The only catch? We were due to arrive in the city on the evening of the 12th. It would be tight, but I was determined to make it happen.
And happen it did! We landed in Perth on the 12th, and the very next morning, we made a beeline to the venue at Joondalup, with my wife’s sister’s family in tow (special thanks to my sister-in-law, my brother-in-law, and our lovely little niece for making it possible

).
The event, dubbed the 'ACC Street Party', was organized by Ayani Car Collective, a premier car community based in Perth. Australia's rich and unique car culture was on full display. We witnessed a delectable mix of JDM tuners and muscle cars, alongside a generous helping of exotics, off-roaders, and classics, all sprinkled with a unique Aussie flavour.
This lovely red Countach (kit car?) was the first exotic that greeted us as we approached the event venue:
Next up, a personal favourite - the Shelby Cobra Concept. I believe this was a kit car as well, but it was in no way discernable and it looked every bit original.
This cutie welcomed us to the main event area with a cheerful smile:
The event was in underway in full swing when we reached there. And what a sight it was to behold! I'll let the next few pictures speak for themselves:
Many owners proudly displayed their tuned powertrains, or should I say, works of engineering art?
