Pimp my Rolls

The Rolls-Royce may have been the epitome of luxurious motoring for more than 100 years, but for a new breed of super-rich oligarchs and Middle-Eastern royalty, it seems a standard version of the world's most famous car is no longer enough.
Having snapped up country estates and football clubs, the nouveau riche now want what is set to become the must-have status symbol of 2008, a customised Rolls-Royce.

The opulence of the Crown Prince of Brunei's wedding car is too dense for the tastes of a commoner like me

It's this sort of blatant racism that does these oh-so-British brands in. Just read the article. John Lennon's car was ok, but how dare those dirty brown men defile our Rollers. Which is why all the major Brit brands are now owned by Germans, Americans, or Indians.

We all pooh pooh it now, but a couple of generations later, people will look in awe and amazement as to what level of wealth the royal famlies once held, and how opulent their lives were, much as we do today with ex Maharaja Rollers, like Bharatpur cars, which all had a large silver bell in front, like the rewa Daimler, finished in pure silver, or this intricately decorated Rolls.

At the same time, I too think it looks terrible!
