Chevy Camaro spy pics : EDIT Now officially launched!

There are spy pics of the Chevy Camaro on the autoblog website. It's mounted on some truck thats transporting a couple of cars that look like Holden's but the Camaro is a left hand drive.

The interiors are probably the ugliest ever seen! They don't seem production ready interiors (one of the pic shows this clearly) but it still looks like GM will have to work REALLY hard to improve them. Check it out:

The interior looks spartan which i assume is okay in keeping with the image of the car. But that instrument console has no appeal.

The steering wheel looks so odd. Looks like Maini Motors did the interiors.

Wires all around on the right side. And a Muscle car with keys, no james bond style presss start button?

I believe no one's going to pay for that car unless they completely change the interiors and instrument panels

Oh no! Looks like the interiors have been ruined! Its got no appeal what so ever.Doesn't look futuristic, nor does it look retro.

The appeal of a Muscle car is not in its interiors.

True,1100D.But to the true enthusiast, there are somethings that appeal, and somethings that don't. The interiors don't need to be outstanding.Something plain & simple does the job,but these pictures don't seem to go along with the Camaro's image.
You don't need wood trims, or chrome in excess..but a fair sense of styling..yes please!

Quite the contrary, actually. That interior looks very much like that in a classic muscle car. Specially those gages. Compare it to the 60's Camaro, and tell me that your typical muscle-car loving baby-boomer wont like it.

If you compare the interiors of the Camaro to the Mustang then youll understand why this feels so basic and well yuck

Absolutely. The Mustang's interiors are done up well, and they give the car a certain image. Its actually quite pleasing to the eye.
Can't say that with the Camaro's interiors.

Ah well, who cares if it handles decently and makes 400+ hp? That too, for $10-$15k less than the base Corvette?

Revealed

"General Motors has officially taken the wraps of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro."

"As expected, the Camaro will be available in LS, LT and SS guises."

"The LS and LT models will do with a 3.6L V6 – mated to either a six-speed automatic or manual transmission – and will produce 300 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. "

"the V6-powered cars will return 26 mpg on the highway. "

"The top-level SS will be motivated by a 6.2L V8. When coupled with the six-speed automatic transmission, the SS will be good for 400 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque, while opting for the manual gearbox will net an additional 22 horsepower, for a grand total of 422 horsepower and 408 lb-ft of torque. The V8 powered car will return about 23 mpg on the highway. "

"An RS appearance package will be available on LT and SS models, and will include HID headlamps with with integrated halo ring feature, spoiler, specific taillamps and 20-inch wheels. "

In my opinion the interior is awesome instead of "yuck". Maybe the 'spy' pictures didn't do it justice.
