Thats a wonderful collection of informatica. I'd rather be reading this type of content anytime over getting grey hair over managing server crashes during live hours!

Superb! Really interesting to know how these car logos/emblems came into being, and how they evolved over the ages.

amazing information and loved the thread, took almost 45 minutes to read through.some of the logos doesnt have any relation with the present ones, the bmw logo had only one logo in between which dont fall in the evolution line.but overall it can be used for reference in future too.

Great find!!

I remember reading somewhere about the RollsRoyce RR logo.
I believe, initially(1900's, i guess till 1909/10), in the logo, both R's used to be red.
Around 1909/1910, Rolls passed away. From this time onwards one R in the logo was red and the other was black.
This was till around 1930. Around this time, the other founder too passed away. Hence from this time onwards, both the R's used to black.

Pardon me for my info is very sketchy. And I had read this quite some time back. If someone who has info on same, can confirm or contradict it, I would be happy.

The RR seems to be one logo which hasnt undergone much of change since its inception.

Rolls Royce

Hi Jagan. I did some research and came up with this - 'The badge on the Rolls-Royce was changed from Red to Black not, as popularly believed to commemorate Henry Royce's death, but because Royce himself decided Black was aesthetically more appropriate. Some customers complained that the red badge often clashed with the colour of the car. The Prince of Wales was particularly outspoken on the subject.'

It is from a fan site - Some Interesting Facts about Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars

The site is quite informative, it also has the history of the Spirit of Ectasy

I am actually awaiting some more information on the logo from the company, visited the site and showroom as well and inquired about the history, hopefully I may get some feedback.

Looks like Fiat had the most number of emblem changes.

Nice find Nishant, thanks for sharing. Chevrolet has had 5 changes AFAIK, the latest one is a larger bowtie emblem as seen in latest Chevrolet cars.
