M6 = Happening surely!

X7 = Big doubts though BMW wants to compete with the upcoming R class by mercedes.

What is CSL??

CSL= Coupe Sport Leicht? not good with acronyms or german. please excuse.
BMW definitely makes it difficult for its buyers. lets see now, a 500 bhp M5 or a 550 bhp M6. of course, potentially they are 2 very different categories, but there is nothing one can do that the other can't. infact the M5 has two extra doors and a extra set of seats, so i guess it does that wee bit more.
but lets see this, there is a 4 door M3 and a 2 door M3, there is also a 2 door M4 but not without a 4 door M4? then there is the 4 door 5 series and M5. and a 2 door 6 series and M6. so what is going to cater to what? im not cribbing, i really love where BMWs cars are heading, i just want to figure out what goes on inside the heads of the product positioning strategists? the engineers got their heads levelled, obviously since they are coming out with machines such as these, but wont these products eat nto each others market share?

Ported_head u have an intresting point but i guess each car has its buyers look at merc it's even worst then BMW with its AMG models which now seem to charm every other car

Believe me when i look at the range i wonder what is made for whom and how does one decide what does he / she want ... but i guess the world is a large market for them to make money in

I know its getting a little confusing but, to remove confusion all I can tell you is..even = 2 odd = 4, not mathematically but in BMWs world..

so there will be no 2 door M3 it will be called the 2 door M4 and so ppl who wanted a 4 door sedan like the M5 but couldnt afford it will now/should get the option of 4 door M3, the current M3 is redesigned to make M4, M5 would be again a 4 door sports sedan but if someone wants a 2 door similar powered/priced car they can go for the M6, and then there are rumours about the M7 and possible 8 in the future..but thats still many years down the line because by the time they settle with so many models it would have been 3-4 year already and possible time to redesign the 7

Also CSL is BMW for highly modified sports coupes with a lot of weight reduction etc and CLS is Merc for nothing on those lines
