Mercedes Benz CLE Class

Quote:
Mercedes-Benz has long been rumoured to be coming up with the CLE-Class, a coupe based on the C-Class, but what we’ve got so far is only the CLC-Class, a restyled hatchback version of the previous generation C-Class chassis.
Theophilus Chin has whipped up what he thinks the CLE-Class 4-door coupe could look like, with headlamps inspired by the SL-Class. It’s essentially a smaller version of the Mercedes Benz CLS-Class, which is a 4-door coupe version of the E-Class.

No news anywhere lately about the CLE-Class, so it may not be something that could ever come into existence after all. It was rumoured that the CLE would come with suicide-doors instead of being a proper 4-door car because the car would be much smaller than the E-Class-based CLS and the 4 doors would not look good on it.

Isn't the CLK already C-class based? Or is it another 4-door coupe based on the C.

You mean a 4-door sedan? A coupe is always 2 doors.
Looks good! The general pattern of cars from the Merc stable seems to be maintained.Similar lines of the C/E/S class.

Isn't that an oxymoron? A coupe is a 2 door car,and usually shorter in length than a typical sedan.. A 4-door car is a regular sedan.

You are technically right. However when they brought out the CLS they marketed it as a 4-door coupe. Here the term "coupe" refers to the coupe shape. That theme is being carried forward to this as well.

To bring this point forward the CLS has been parked right beside the new car, almost like an elder brother introducing his sibling.

Wow! This is gooooooooooooood!!!

CLK sports coupe is based on C class. But the CLK cabriolet is based on the E. So is the CLS.

Now, to have a mini version of the CLS is going to be hot! I see a lot of party goers lining up as this will make for a good evening car. Something you can drive up and announce your arrival.
