Mercedes-Benz reveals GLK, their Audi Q5 competitor

the new definition of ugliness.
It also makes its world debut tomorrow alongside the Q5 in auto china 2008 with sales starting this fall.
Also, expected in India in 2009 to compete with BMW X3 with the same engine lineup as the current c class as it is built on current W 204 4MATIC platform which also underpins the c class.

It looks like a huge C class.... the straight lines that look awesome on the S class and C class look horrible here.

Ouch! that looks really really weird. And what's up with that weird plastic texture on the dash, seats & steering wheel?

The weird grainy texture is probably due to the high resolution of the original pic. Just when you think a particular angle looks good on this car, you veer your eyes some place else and WHAM...an ugly, visually unaesthetic design feature penned by what could only be described as a drunk Chris Bangle wannabe hits you in the face before you know it.

This looks like a c class stuffed into an suv. As a result u get a station wagonish looking c-class. . The only thing nice about this car are those rims. I seem to find them pretty nice.

This car will NOT be coming to India since its a LHD only. It's for the best since I really do not want to see this car or any other car from its segment. The X3, GLK and Q5 are all HORRIBLE. The Q5 while not ugly looks like a fat blob.

Thank God its not coming to India. We already have enough ugly cars, we dont need a MB to up the ante!

I beg to differ with the Q5 remark. It's the Q7 that's the rhino, or perhaps the fat blob as you stated. The Q5 appears to be quite visually pleasing, although it is the same rhino with a makeover and few less pounds.

IMO its a little too squarish. I guess the design will grow on as time passes.

Honestly, I'd pick a Sumo Grande over this, I'm one of those that bother about how their car looks.
