Im not sure I like the non-matching front grille and shut lines of the hood. However, when the chrome goes on, and Im assuming it will, it will look ghastly otherwise, it will look different. I do like the sporty turn the new S has taken.

This is just a face lift so they are not going to hide only whats going to be changed. One of the rumored additions to the face lift is the Pre Scan Suspension.

Those double fog lamps are just camouflage, not the real deal.

Why does it look different than the first pics? Looks like the current S-Class actually.

Man, it looks ugly in that picture! Definitely the worst angle to shoot the S-Class in. Simply lacks the grace of the W126, W140 and the W220.

From the report, it says that its being undergoing some test on ABC. So it may be the reason that its not having much cosmetic changes.

I dont know why, but I felt it was one of ugliest cars ever produced.
IMHO, the car's image is photoshopped.

Best Shots Yet of Mercedes S-Class Facelift

The Mercedes S Class has only been on the market for a short while but with rivals such as the BMW 7-series and Audi A8, the German manufacturer cannot afford to be complacent. Ahead of its launch our spies have caught a prototype shed of almost all of its disguise.

Clearly visible are the new front skirt and fog lights, a revised bumper, as well as the new side mirrors. There will also be a modified layout of the headlights: while the flashers will move to the bottom of the units, LED daylight driving lamps will be fitted to the outer edges of the front lamp units. A slightly re-designed rear bumper and taillights without the coloured, a “metal” stripes will round off the facelift.

Engines are likely to benefit from a bit of emission busting tuning whilst the rumours state the model will be available with both petrol and diesel hybrids by 2010.
