Nice front end..back to the square headlites i guess. A little cadillacish with all that edginesslike rtech says. Ruined the rear thou. Looks very much like some korean gimmick. Now that Daimler Chrysler also has some stake in Hyundai, i guess some of its genes are being passed on to mercs rather than the other way round. Gimme the tailamps of the older c class which looked an extended to the top of the bootlid. Talking abt the predecessor of the current C. There is 190 E close to where i stay. In dark blue. Very good reason to sin for. Will post a pic of it if possible.

If you or someone close to you is dead serious about buying a W140, make sure that you end up with a post 1995 model. The cars upto 1996 were horrible and had all kinds of electric gremlins in them.

This is how i would like my C to look like. Low stance, big tyres, loads of power and elegant at thhe same time.

PS: The car in the bottom pic is the one i worked on.

I've seen just one W140 S600 V12 in Mumbai. That car stands in the compound next to mine. I don't think the owner wants to sell it. He loves it too much.
There are many S320s around though.

Coming to the new C Class, I was pleasantly surprised by the front end. The rear lights are not as goodlooking as the current model's.

It's a really dark lilac shade. The owner is none other than Bombay Dyeing Chairman, Nusli Wadia. He also owns a metallic light blue W126 280. The guy has had all badges removed from his cars. I don't know what's the motive behind this.
I was lucky to see these cars as soon as they were bought. That's how I know what they are.
He had some amazing old Mercs too - I was in my early teens then. Man, those were the days!

I dont know how much, but my driver was telling me that there is a prev gen S600 owned by a majistrate or someone in delhi which he bought for about 1.3 crs or something..has driven it like 3000 km since he has had it..only takes it out on weekends and that to once or twice a month...

It was a very hot commodity last year...most likely it would have been sold, cuz you would have had it for a fraction of that cost..more like 60 or 75 i would imagine..

Cheers..

This car is pretty sweet from the front man...but very disappointing from the back..I agree the current C is better..but if they correct the back and make it more like the current E or something, then I would go with this one..

Cheers
