Lamborghini LP640 Roadster Versace Edition

Here is the new Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 Roadster VERSACE Edition previewed for the first time yesterday (23rd June) at the Maison’s Via Gesù 12, Milan.

The new monster was created when the Maison Versace's designers collaborated with the Lamborghini Design Centre and the specialists working on the "ad personam" project.

The "ad personam" is an exclusive Lamborghini program that allows individual clients to create bespoke Lamborghinis choosing the equipment specification, the colour of the exterior body and of the interior fittings.
The new limited edition Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640 Roadster VERSACE, which will be produced to order, displays a pastel white livery and the Versace Greek key motif on the lower part of the door. Equipped for the very first time with a transparent engine hood that reveals the powerful V12 engine, this model has been reconfigured internally. The cradle seats are clad in black and white leather, while opulent full grain soft nappa leather – hand-embroidered with the Versace Greek fret motif - upholsters the instrument panel, the doors and the central console.

The engine spec remains unchanged.

At the rate Lambo is going, I think there will be more limited editions on the road than regular. How many more to come? Looks like these LE's have become absolute cash cows.

Any engine updates like more power or something substantial mechanical change ?

If its just cosmetic looks special edition ( mostly its that only ), then I feel they are going over the line in making these Editions.

Time to come up with a new design, and im talking completely new... not the recycling of the same one over and over... I like this one though.

we had 2 of these coupes(one black one white) in chciago for sale.

guess how long it took for them to sell, if you are guessing months then you are right, I believe it took more than 2-4 mo, but considering the pricing was 1/2mil it was expected, no one in there right mind was going to pay 140k extra for versace monogram, 20-40k ok, but 140k over a regular LP is crazy..

no power boost, so in your opinion Reventon was a waste as well, since it was a LP640 with a new carbon body shell(sexy) with some minor interior upgrades.. and 10hp which was i think due to a new exhaust they had used..

i think its cool that these limited eds are there, atleast you get a unique piece out of it..

err.Hmm

Reventon had an excellent body shape that did justice to the marketing strategy. But this shape is now getting old and this shape is best left without any editions. It is an edition in itself.
IMO, this is just a method to earn more money. Its time for a new Murcialago with more powerful engine and much better suspension. This limited edition trend also shows that new car might be coming. But its too much for this car to take on.

Which was the previous versace edition lamborghini was associated with? Because i remember drooling over the pics of a white lamborghini not more than a year back i guess. I think it was the murceilago itself.

But so is this, the shape didnt change, but the stylish interior and that beautiful clear engine bay cover is a good extra hence its not a bad option to have for some..

As for the reventon, i agree, but i was only pointing out that it was nothing more than a LP with a new sexy boday kit and not worth the 1.2m price tag, that was a complete rip off..anyhow the murci is due for a redesign in the next 2 yrs, next yr is going to be the LP640 SV as 2010 model and then we should have the redesigned murci as a 2011 or 2012 with the G changing in 2013/4
