Forthcoming VW Polo

Looks good, I hope it does not get the dopey pricing. With the Fabia being producred here, it is likely we get this version (less frilly!)

Will VW release this in India? Worldwide launch is next year, expect this in India in 2010 or 2011. Looks yummy though.

I think its not this polo thats coming to india
according to autocar and looking at the spy pictures in the autocar magazine, it is the Polo saloon which will be coming into India.

Always loved the Polo's chunky proportionate looks. The rear three-quarter angle is mindblowing!

The first photo is lovely.
The front end resembles Sciorocco.
Hope that this car makes it to our shores. If possible with a great diesel and we know VW has a lot of diesels.

Why doesn't VW go with the full goatie front grille like the Golfs and Audis for the Polo as well. It'll look way better than this one.

Looks good overall though. Hope they launch it in India soon.

strong compete

Polo's entry will provide choice to the segment buyers with vast features to choose & a well built car, will be a swift rival if priced competetively...
should catch up the indian market for sure for its dynamic looks...

Polo looks cool..but only worry is the branding and pricing in India.
Jetta hasnt still made its mark in India and passat is far away from recognition.
to me VW is a hot car.

I can just hope they get Polo at non inflated price. There was a big buss of Jetta being launched to compete the likes of Octavias , Corollas and Civics but post launch it was a different story all together where it has been placed much above the rest. Too much of a premuim demanded by VW I believe. Lets see how they fare with Polo next year when it is scheduled for a launch as per the little information and declaration they have made available.

I hope it is launched at the price tag comparable to punto, i20 and upcoming Jazz. That would really make the car competitive. Though I really doubt they would.

this is the new face of the VW cars. it started with scirrocco, then the golf VI and now the polo. they should be launching it by 2009 end cause 2010-11 is too far away!

it gives a slight hint of BMW 1 series from the rear 3 quarter profile photo!

1.2 petrol and 1.4 tdi engines for india.

if they price it right starting frm 4-4.5 lakhs onwards, i would surely pick one for myself with petrol engine!

if they price it too pricy like fabia and it starts from 5 lakh onwards, then i would have to drop the idea of buying a VW!

the new look at VW seems to be very similar to the AUDI looks. no harm i guess. after all its from the extended family

BSM was reporting that this model would be launched in India soon.
