Ugly, ugly, ugly!!! BMW is going from bad to worse! They only needed to change the front. The tail was excellent with those awesome taillights!
Sad, very sad!

I am able to locate one video of 5-Series.

Link:
Next Generation BMW 5-Series Spy Video

Quote:
The BMW 5-series began to reveal some of its eventual styling a couple of months a go when it shed part of its disguising revealing part of its signatur grille. We can now enjoy this model beating down the Nurburgring in a new video caught by our spy photographers.
Overall the 5-Series is set to receive less adventurous styling along the lines of the conservative E90 3-Series while receiving some design cues, particularly in the rear, from the 7 Series.
Electronic features to name a few will include wide angle cameras in the side mirrors for greater overall visibility, upgraded iDrive user control system and enhanced Park Distance Control with visual display.
Set to debut on the new 7-Series, the F10 5-Series will receive a new 8-speed electronic automatic transmission for ultra smooth shifts and efficiency while the M5 will be the only 5 Series model to receive the new double clutch M-DCT sequential transmission which appears on the M3 later this year. Also, optional all-wheel-drive and a wide range of six petrol engines from the 2.5-liter 218hp to 4.4 liter V8 twin-turbo with 400hp found in the X6 and four diesels ranging from 2.0 liter 175hp to the twin turbo 286hp 3.0-liter inline 6.
With the current E60 5-Series on the market since 2004, the arrival of the F10 5er is still less than two years away with an expected launch in spring 2010 as a 2011 model and the M5 to follow a year later. Surely we can expect the 5 Series prototypes to gradually shed their camouflage over the next year.

Some update.
Source: More 2010 BMW 5 Series Details Emerge - worldcarfans

Article :
Quote:
New details of the 2010 BMW 5-Series are beginning to surface. Set for delivery during the 2nd quarter of 2010, the new 5-Series will carry a sportier design, and be slightly longer than the previous E60 generation.

Despite being longer, the functional dimensions stayed the same. Only the wheelbase was increased slightly. Aside from the sedan, a Touring version will come to market. That model should see daylight in October 2010. Each will have the wider BMW grille reminiscent of the BMW CS Concept, first shown in the Shanghai motor show 2007.

Several driver-assist systems will be available on the car, including a steering system with an active rear axle. This system will be speed-dependent, and help to prevent rear-end swing-out, making the car easier to control when cornering. The damping control on the car will be fully adjustable, with several different driving modes selectable on the fly. Night vision, lane-assist, active braking, and an advanced cruise control system will also be available.

The 5-Series will have a choice of petrol engines ranging from 180 to 370 hp, and diesel engines that output 180 to 290 hp. One of these options will be the 2.0-liter twin-turbo 204hp four-cylinder found on the 1-Series. From 2011 onward, a mild hybrid may also be available. As seen in the BMW 7-Series Active Hybrid Concept, mild hybrids function by cutting off the engine when the car is coasting, or at a dead stop. Mild hybrids can also assist with power output at higher speeds.

Eventually, we should also see the release of a new M5. This car would likely come with a huge 500+ hp V10, and a dual-clutch transmission.

The newer the BMW the uglier it is. I think the E39 is the most beautiful 5 series ever made. Of course I could be partial but heck, many would agree.

True to it's characteristics the current 5 handle like a dream, likewise do other BMWs. But with the rear axel bending, BMW is taking handling to another level. Nice to see a company live up to their name and take their USP areas verryy seriously!

Looove the rear, hope they make the front ok. BMW has made some unfortunate surprises in the past (just my opinion) so i hope they stick with the more agressive look like Vivekji05 and Jayguar said, the "eagle eyes"!

Some more news.
Source : 2011 BMW 5 Series sedan spied with less disguise - showing its shape - Worldcarfans

Article from the above link :
Quote:
o far, we've seem to have faired better in snatching some spy shots of the next-generation 5-series wagon rather than those of the sedan model. But here's a few shots of the upcoming new 5-series standard sedan, expected to roll into town sometime in 2010.

Now, what do these pics tell us? Not much, because the camouflage is still pretty distracting and quite effective at disguising any changes to the design. Of course, those changes will be subtle, anyway. But shape-wise, the new 5-series seems to be a little more tightly carved. Looking trim, sportier and more like a 3-series than the 7-series it is often compared to. Although, we have had previous spy shots of the 5-series tourer revealing some design cues from its senior sibling, such as with the tail lights.

The 5-series will be expected to come with a wide range of engines currently in the BMW stable. Those include both the 3.0 liter V6 and the 4.4 liter V8 twin-turbo engines. On the lower end of the scale, there will also be 2.0 liter petrol and diesel engines packing enough punch to properly power this mid-range premium model.

The one snapshot of the interior also, unfortunately, doesn't reveal much. But with German brands, the progression of models is always more evolutionary than revolutionary. Expect more of a nodding-of-your-head-in-satisfactory-approval response rather than an elated-popping-of-the-eyes one.
