First hand peek at the Chevy CRUZE!

Strolling along the Abu Dhabi Motor show floors came across the Chevy Cruze in production ready format!

Surprisingly it drew very little interest from the crowds.

Here are few impression

-has 'presence' especially from the front
The New Chevy Cruze!-frontlong.jpg
The New Chevy Cruze!-cruzefront.jpg

-rear is less imaginative/creative/standout

-finish appears to be top notch(Honda and Toyota levels).
The New Chevy Cruze!-centercon.jpg
-Interior design has a lot of flair-one of the best laid out dashboard i have seen in that segment.

-material quality is also good-hope that makes to India also.
The New Chevy Cruze!-frontpassenger.jpg
-front seats are very comfortable
The New Chevy Cruze!-rearseats.jpg
-rear seat are a disappointment actually-expected more

-hard to sell this above the current optra-maybe the latter will be phased out for this new car.

Great photos, TOR... The cruze looks like a very good product. The 2.0 diesel will be awesome to drive, looking at the specs.

Handsome car. Chevy cars do look very manly and the Cruze is no exception.

Is this a replacement for the Optra or will it ever come to India?

I doubt this will be a replacement for Optra since it is not all that old for a phase out by Indian standards. This will probably give competition to Civic and Octi at the 11-13 lac price band.

CRUZE looks like a grown-up aveo. This car is definitely a good choice for those who are looking for a descent diesel car in the segment of optra magnum and octavia. Rear seats are real disappointment, rear legroom is really disappointment and cant be compared with civic and altis. CRUZE will have to price around Magnum a descent replacement for magnum also. Chevy lacks brand image in India that will be one of the greatest challenge CRUZE have to face.

Nice pictures.
Although the car looks nice, its not that eye catching IMO. For example, look at Civic or Accord and you are surely inviting the second look, but in this case, this is not the case atleast for me. The interiors are nice, but I doubt the rear space is more than Optra. The 150 bhp diesel is the way to go for this car in India. People will surely like its looks. I think that headlights are nice, but the grille design is not that good. Does not gel with the headlamps.

compare the first pic and the next 2 the interiors are really classy in the first 1 and the second 2 look cheap with small screen and cheap plastics i think the cheap quality interiors and smaller screen will make it to india

Optranea

Looks like a mix of chevy optra & fiat linea after looking at the front & rear.

from the pics the rear leg space is poor! if it has to compete with the corolla and civic it needs better space and better interiors i think.
i have travelled in the optra it has pretty good leg space in the rear but somehow this one seems to have less space in the back..

It does look hot in red and black colour. Read a short review on this with 148bhp diesel on Fifth gear. According to them it seems to be well sort out car. Performance wise does 0-62mph in 8.2sec with 50mpg.
Looks like it's gonna be one hell of a car. I wonder what it would do after a remap or pete's tuning box.

Spotted 2 Chevy Cruze's outside MGF Plaza, Gurgaon. They looked big and beautiful! The interiors were totally lit up in blue. The guys driving it said its a fantastic car to drive, and more sporty than the Optra.

I clicked pics from my phone but nothing that's not been shown before. Both cars were camoflaged in black.
