Oh man, if this is the real thing then I like what I see. Looks different from the 911 and Boster, but still appealing in a Porsche kind of way.

Because a thread on the Cayman already existed, started by me.
It's rather pointless don't you think to have more than one thread on the same topic? So the threads were merged, only to make it more organised.

Please also check for existing threads before starting new ones.

My hopes are dashed. I was hoping this would be the poor man's Porsche at the same price of a 350Z. I mean, usually hardtops are much cheaper than convertible versions. Oh well....the fantasy was good while it lasted.

Porsche have to cater to a wider audience while still retaining their brand values, which explains both the Cayenne and the relatively high price of the Cayman.

Price tag in Germany incl. 16% VAT: 58529 Euro

Crap. Looks like it's going to be a really long wait before I can buy one of these.

If that's not all Ported, the car is already running in a waiting list till 3rd quarter 2006.

Hehe, its still not a patch on the M5. If you book now, deliveries are scheduled only for mid 2007.

Update: Porsche Panamera

- Panamera concept drawings have been presented to 100+ customers from the US and germany (they had to sign non disclosure agreements) in order to check the prospects of success.

- It's no sport estate, but a "coupé", looking quite similar to the 911 -- but with 4 doors and a lot bigger

- Porsche is going to develop the car alone ,VW backed out, boy am I glad.

- The car body will be manufactured by component supplier Magna-Steyr in Graz, Austria. final assembly will take place in Leipzig.

- Engine options: cayenne's V8 and CGT's V10

- Car will share 40% of parts with 911/cayenne

- Target 25,000 units/yr

- Priced around 70,000 - 100,000 EUR

- Final decision either on July 27th's board meeting or in September.
