Mounikaaa! Oh my darling!

If a motor bicycle is a motorbike or mobike, what's a motor unicycle? a motorunike or mounike?

This orange and grey contraption is called the UNO.

Mounikaaa! Oh my darling!-unomotorunike0.jpg

Shown at the 2008 National Motorcycle Show at Toronto, Canada.

Looking like a one-wheeled motorcycle, it actually has two side-by-side wheels.

Mounikaaa! Oh my darling!-unomotorunike3.jpg

It weighs 54.4 kg and was developed by an 18-year-old kid: Ben J. Poss Gulak. He has started a company called BPG-Technologies. Check out their under construction website: UnoCycle

The only recognizable controls it has are an on-off switch.
Like a Segway, it is controlled by leaning forward and backward.

reminds me of a wooden horse that as kids we used to rock on forward and backward to keep it swaying.

It's that for adults and it actually moves.

This has two wheels. Technically, this is not a uni-cycle or a uni-motorcycle.

It's a one-axle vehicle, period.

Can we call, a two-axle dual-rear-wheel lorry, a six-wheeler, not a four wheeler?

The rear dual-wheels of a lorry are just a single-kind-of-spare-wheel convenience, that spread weight over a broader area to increase the lorry’s payload and traction, without actually using different widths of tire and wheel.

Not conclusive enough to warrant 'period' at the end of it.

unicycle. (n.d.). Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1). Retrieved August 06, 2008, from Dictionary.com website: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/unicycle

No mention of axles here.

Wikipedia (okay, not a very conclusive source) also defines it as a one-wheeled human-powered vehicle. Not a one-axled.

Two axle dual rear wheel trucks are called six-wheelers. 18 wheel trailers have 18 wheels, not 18 axles.

I know we're argueing on technicalities here, but I just thought I'd point this out since you seemed to be quite convinced about what you said.

The rider gets a feel that he is doing a wheelie or a stoppie at most times.

Funny how even these uni motorcycles sport a much more powerful engine than what we are offered here for our bi motorcycles.

Isn't 6x4 the terminology for RWD 6 wheeler trucks?

Who said brakes ? This is like our autos, just keep weaving through the traffic, do not stop.

1954 MV Augusta 60 cc Monomoto Superleggera

musicmanaman: this is the legend of the 1954 MV Augusta 60 cc Monomoto Superleggera as found in multiple places on the web.

The motor-unicycle is an experimental machine ridden by young wealthy Italian Luiggi Bandini, during practice for the 1954 Milano-Taranto Road Race.

Mounikaaa! Oh my darling!-mvaugustamonomotosuperleggera.jpg

In a misty mountain section, while waving to a pretty girl, Bandini tragically lost control and lost his life.

His grief stricken father, Count Enzio Bandini never again permitted anyone to ride or even view this advanced design, and knowledge of its whereabouts faded.

Eventually, rumors of this fascinating machine reached motorcycle collector, Mr. Todd Fell. He sought it out on a trip to Naples, Italy at the Bandini country villa. In 2004, fifty years after the fatal accident, they sold it to him.
