Truly "Drove" an E60 M5 today

So today I was lucky enough to spend a couple hours driving the hell out of my friends M5. He had registered for a local car show but didn't realize that he was going to be out of the country(in Malaysia) the dates of the show. Because of this he asked me if I was able to take his car to the event location a day early for the setup.. um, yes of course.

To make the situation even better he noted that I may need to drive the car around to burn off some gas, as one of the rules of the show is you cannot enter the building with more then an 1/8 of a tank of gas. Lucky me it was just under half a tank. I had an hour to burn off the gas and was happy to do my duty.

I must say, in non "M" mode, it is kinda normal(relatively speaking.. for a 400hp car).. but in "M" mode(500+ HP).. the car is pretty awesome. So what's the best way to burn off gas as quick as possible? Well full throttle through as many gears as possible.. as many times as possible. I did my job well an it was a blast. Before driving it today I had just ridden in it(although offered to drive many times but didn't for some reason) and wasn't overly impresses. However today when driving it like it was meant to be driven.. The car is truly amazing. I like that car.

Here are a few pics of it:

Hmm, I don't even know. I know I asked when he got them, but don't remember. They are some Euro brand I believe(not one of the main stream brands). I'll take a look tomorrow and let you know if I remember to look.

Damn, now thats an offer you can't resist ! Best of all you played hard with it, without any guilt , after all you were just doing what was told

Looks like the m5 has 20 inchers, what make are they? That isn't the Monaco blue,is it?

Any idea what wax/polish he uses? The shines dazzling!

Because this is the second time someone has asked already, I did a quick search online and found the answer. The wheels are: 20x10.5 and 20.9 Radenergie R10s (4.5" rear lip, 3.5" front lip)

And I think it's called Interlagos Blue?

Another friend of ours did a multi stage clean/wax, but not sure which product he used. He has two choices, so it depends on what the customer chooses. It's either Zaino or Meguires though.

LOL, no burnout pics. I wouldn't do that to someones else's car unless they were with me and they asked me to do it. He may have some action pics, but I'll have to ask him when he gets back from Malaysia.

They were professionally taken, but not at the event. Those were all at my shop(except the picture with the Supra next to it), we had a photo shoot with a bunch of cars, this was just one of them. Oh, and good eye, the kidneys were blacked out as well as the side vents in the fenders. The Supra next to it in that one picture was at the photo shoot as well.

The event is actually tonight(Saturday night), I'll see if I can take some pics, but it's pretty dark in some of these shows.. Techno/models/club atmostphere/cars..

I've seen 3 piece Hartge wheels that look just like that...

Yeah the E60 M5 is a killer car, and hella fun to drive...I love how the comfortable 5 series changes into a raging beast at the push of a button...

Exactly, the car comes alive when you hit the "M" button. I love the active seats, it catches you off guard if you've never felt them before. And yeah, this one is lowered but it still is very comfortable when you want it to be.

Thats quite a nice looking specimen too -- but c'mon HPP! you gotta give us some slightly more detailed feedback on the whole driving experience!
