I dunno bout 2-tone interiors, but the interior made absolutely no sense to me at all... its all just a blur... they should have left the inside alone... but you must admit, the exterior is amazing... yeah, I love this Civic hatch too...

the civic comes only in 1.3l and 1.6l....the type r civics are hybrids like our e-zens...
It's not like the E-Zens we have here. The Type R is a variant of the Civic which can be bought, right out of a Honda showroom.

Isn't the Civic engine the K20A2, which happens to be on the Acura RSX Type S?

Here's a Civic model page from the official Honda-UK website. Civic Type R

in which case, RSX has a 2.0 I4 which is the same as the the type R ...

as far as hybrids are concerned the type r used is b18c5....
shantanu some advice...layoff the honda showrooms and their specs......
the civic when hybrid to a type r means its and eg or an ek which comes with a b16a engine and they use the b18c5. the 2.0l is no where concerned. thats why its called a hybrid. this engine swap alone gives you a 14sec car......
the new type r you are talking about is an i-vtec...not used by racing enthusaiasts because its relatively new and also very expensive.
comparing it to e-zens here meant that the engine is swapped to one which is more powerful than the existing....could be any swap.... a m800 with a 1000engine..a 1.3 honda with the vtec..etc.

How does that change anything? The fact is that the Type R is sold as a Civic, by Honda. The Civic tuned by Dom can be called a hybrid since he replaced the original engine with a Type R one. But, the new Civic Type R is not a Hybrid. It is technically the most powerful Civic offered by Honda.

So if the CR-V got an upgrade from a 2ltr engine to a 2.4 ltr Accord engine, what do we call the CR-V, then?

it would be a hybrid if done by you outside not by the company selling you a diff option. like you go in to buy a 1.6 or 1.8 optra does not mean that the 1.8 is a hybrid.....

the type R is sold as a civic as well as an integra....a type R is a MODDED GSR engine

That's what i've been saying from the begining, the Type R is not a hybrid as the company itself is producing them.

And coming back to the statement that started this discussion, the Type R is officially the most powerful Civic, Honda has to offer.
