Next Generation Ford Endeavour??

I came across pics of the new Ford Ranger Max concept for Thai market.

As most of us already know, the current Ford Endeavor aka the Ford Everest in Thailand is based on their current Ford Ranger, so this new Ford Ranger Max concept could be a hint of things to come perhaps in form of a new Endeavor for India as well. Lets hope.

Looks very nice from what I see.

MODS: I hope I am not breaking any rules in this post, if I am please forgive.

Wow this is a cool iteration of the Endeavour/Everest!
Maybe after the advent of Fortuner, Ford decides to spruce up the Indian Endy.

Nice looking, but before this car makes it to our shores, we deserve better A.S & S ( After Sales and Service ).
About the car, the looks are nice like to current Endy, but what I dont like is a lack of proper motor. May be a 2.2 ltr, 160-165 bhp motor, but I think a 3.0 ltr with around 210 or 220 bhp would be good for this car to be priced against the CR-V. Cheaper 2.2 ltr could do at a lower price level and 3.0 will do duty against CR-V.

A few areas where the car as to be better:
1) Rear seat space.
2) Rear suspension. Ford introduced the IRS ( Indenpendent Rear Suspension ) in its Expedetion in US when the SUVs based on " trucks " were selling like hot cakes. So they have the technology and expertise. So I hope that the new Ranger will have IRS and so in India, their " luxury " SUV can also have this.
3) Easier gearshift.
4) Less weight.

Although looks cool, but there are too many "conceptual" features to give a true indication of the actual outcome.

The car simply looks wow! But I hope, in future, they don't divert from the 'old-school' SUV looks.

Well I am sure there are a lot of people around here waiting for a decent SUV in the 20L range, while people like me have given up or are awaiting the Toyota Fortuner - I am sure a new Ford Endy will stir things up in this range and perhaps pressure others to come up with a decent SUV in this category.

IMHO the new Ranger MAX concept does hint towards possibility of a new Everest = Endeavour and in starting this thread I was hoping to have one place where others can contribute on this subject as well. I just randomly came across the concept pics, and hoping that there is more to come.

Perhaps its a bit too soon or even irrelevant, the MODS will close it in such a case.

Anywho cheers:

Agree with sphinx. Also realize that Thai market is dominated by pickup trucks, unlike India. So IMNSHO this set of pics won't lead far.

The current endy is sufficently mean looking and has loads of bully power but driving it around town needs lot of clutch action !! Automatic mated to the 2WD 2500cc engine will make it drivible in city too !!

Another endeavour based on a pick up truck translates to a horrendous suspension for a (or is it 'an') SUV
