Just a few days ago spy pictures of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS appeared. Not at the best angles admittedly, so today is payback. These photographs show almost every angle of the car, even under heavy camo. The roof is completely bare for all to see and so are the squashed rectangular tailpipes.

Some reports have suggested the four-door coupe CLS will be based on an S-Class platform but it will actually be based on the E-Class. In keeping with its earth eco responsibilities, Mercedes will for the first time, offer a BlueHybrid version of its sporting 2+2 seater using the same engine as the S400 BlueHybrid. Additionally a few engines found in the E-Class should make their way into the CLS engine bay too, meaning petrol and diesel as well as a 400kW / 536hp-plus AMG.

The CLS practically invented its segment when it came into the market in 2004. It gave people with families of about three or four a spacious car with four doors plus the driving characteristics of a two-door sports coupe.

It looks better with the camouflage on :D Mean, especially the rear lights.

Does anyone else think the car is terribly ugly or is it just me ??

I hate it! Let it be camouflaged.

Not bad not good say 50-50 :),but in the spy mode the tail lights look good.

the front and side profile is fine...but what happened to the rear??

The artistic render in the german mag looks great. The headlamps and the rear looks good and original.

Another design disaster by Merc.
Awfull is top say the least.

Easy dudemans...these are artists' renderings! The last picture is a late 2004 2011 CLS. Nice one mate.

As aniguchisan mentioned, none of these are orginal photos. All are photoshop created by artists from thier imaginations & the hints they get from the manufactures & spy sources.

it seems to have the same front end design as the new sl , the current one is much better looking , the new e class is also a design disaster , its only audi that makes good looking cars these days .

It looks fine too only a whole lot more aggressive than the outgoing CLS which was regal and sophisticated.

They have put the New SL's lights on it.

I find it better camouflaged.

Don't the BMW M3/M5 sedans do the same thing?
