good to see a thread on pickups! the closest i get to them is the utility of a gypsy!! takes in dogs , cycles, tonnes of furniture , etc etc ....once carried 300 Kgs of medical supplies to manali too!!

and i agree, the Tata 207 crew cab is quite good looking with lots of potential ! i kind of prefer the classic straight lines

Pick Ups With A Difference From Down Under - The "ute"

Hi guys..

I am sure you guys are familiar with UTE's (pronounced "yout")

An Aussie pick up if you may..

These have been around as long as picks have been around...and is a part of most Aussie small/medium business or self employed.

Used for street racing as well...(Drags, circuits, drift et al)

AND MAINLY BURNOUTS!!!

Quicker that their 4 door counter parts due to their weight (lower)

Here are some of the most common ones..(mainly made by FORD and HOLDEN)

too many variants..

check out these links

http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/vz/main.a...n/maloor8.html

(this one's the best one from HOLDEN - HSV)

http://www.fpv.com.au/cars/super-pur.../overview.aspx

(this one's the best one from FORD - FPV)

HAVE A LOOK THROUGH BOTH THESE WEB SITES...

SOME MEAN AUSSIE MUSCLE FOR YOU..

www.hsv.com.au

www.fpv.com.au

(Competition is intense...they are like PEPSI and COKE here)

cooldude, enlightenment please ..
is this a tavera pick-up ? modified / OE avatar ?

Btw, saw the Tata TL twice y'day. Looked good, but felt the rear seat seemed a little too upright. Else it's only avlbl in 4x4, and that brings the cost to 9L+ [quick answer by dealer]
