chevrolet spark with corvette 7.0 L V8, 550 bhp engine created in Europe !

source:worldcarfans
General Motors has no idea that their baby Chevrolet Matiz is now capable of slaying their greatest giant the Corvette. It's not an officially-manufactured car but it will take care of some serious supercars in any straight-line battle. Created by Fourdin Auto Sport founder, Yves Fourdin, and a few friends, this Matiz was the result of 1,500 hours of hard work by people who are not even engineers but motorsport enthusiasts. Best of all they used no computers for their achievement.

Using the Matiz as a base, Fourdin and his team installed a 7.0-litre V8 straight out of a Corvette Z06. It makes 550hp (404kW) to blast the Matiz from 0 - 100km/h in a swift 3.7 seconds. The 0 - 200km/h time is 10.94 seconds while terminal velocity is 260km/h (162mph).

No details on its track performance were released so there's no telling how it takes to corners, bar a glimpse of it taking that long curve on the video. The car was finished in August 2008 and is currently being shown at the International Racing Show Liège in Belgium.

That's nasty my friend. Great find. Would be perfect for our roads with no issues in parking and would spank all the super cars here

If you're talking about the stock LS7, 505HP, not 550

I know why it was designed such, but my point was it looks so funny!
They could have got a better car something worthy of deserving that beauty of an engine fron Corvette, not a fake Chevy, its a "They Who"(read Daewoo)for heavens sake.

The Golf is a beauty in itself and the GTi W12 atleast looked menacing not funny like this Matiz/Spark. I mean com'on the Golf is atleast sort of a cult car and the Spark is just one among the Tom, Dick And Harrys of cars.

PS: My appologies to Spark owners, if i am hurting any sentiments but Com'on guys...!!!

I bet that less than 5% of the spark is retained in this but the performance must be mind boggling..

If produced in limited number of say 12 with a $300,000 price tag; a certain Mr. Leno might get one for the exclusivity quotient..
