Here are some official photo from BMW. I think this concept gives us a hint of how the next gen 5-series will look like!

its this thing with BMW and I have noticed it in all their 'upcoming' designs...the first look at the pictures strike the OOMPH factor and make your jaw drop deep...! Love the new 5...

I think it looks great in the side profile. Reminds me of the awesome 1gen Infinity FX45.

Some details are wacky like that gaudy tailight from the 7. The rear overhang is too long. The roof tapers too much like a notchback and there is too much going on inside those wheels.
It will take some time to digest. I am happy that they did not do a minivan like the R class.

I dont even know what to call this type of vehicle. Its somewhat mid way between a car/estate and a cross-over SUV.
But BMW is not the pioneer, I think the first to market was the Infinity EX35 and the next was the awesome looking Toyota Venza that is setting the sales charts afire.

This is a hot segment to watch out for guys. Its brings the commanding seating position that people while not killing fuel economy too much.

Does anyone really care ? BMW is bringing in all these model and inviting only more brickbats ,don't see a real point in this version, IMO it's Ugly to the core.

BMW should stick to what it does best...fast,edgy,driver-centric sedans, coupes,GTs & SUVs...and maybe the odd supercar someday...but not this...I think the current Bangled 5 series looks the best, bold & devilish...very BMW...Bangle rocked!! this one(the concept) goes all soft and undistinctive...

I'm gonna hold my comments until the final production version is unveiled. However, I absolutely love the 7 series.....and the 3 / 5 are known to follow their bigger brothers design direction. Yup, I am optimistic, even though I hate what is shown on this thread. Doesn't the front remind anyone of a Mitsubishi?

I have an idea : Why don't you work lesser, make lesser money and buy the cheaper E39? . That's a true classic!

BMW shouldn't do this.I loved the earlier designs.

But I dont know whats happening. The lights are getting meaner and the grill is getting bigger.
The rear has nothing great to talk about too.
