T 300 Aveo UVA unmasked

Pic source: Leftlane – news, reviews, and info for the auto-industry, courtesy BP and Company.

While you may question about why these pics should not be put into the international automotive scene, the fact is that GM will launch a completely overhauled Aveo UVA replacement (or whatever it will be called here) by first quarter of 2011.

The current dowdy looking UVA dates back to 2000 as a rebadged Daewoo kalos, so it definitely feels old as compared to its competition.

This new model will be truly global, like the cruze and beat and will be launched simultaneously in global markets, including India and USA.
Crucial to GM's survival, its importance cannot be underestimated. So putting these, first time captured unmasked shots from all angles, in this section of tbhp.

Engine choices remain unknown as of now. Lets hope that GM replaces the UVA with this and does not continue to sell both the models side by side.

A sedan version is also planned to replace the 4 door aveo, but will come later in 2011.

Looks as similar to the new Lancer from the front, to be called a Colt (hatchback version of the Lancer). Looks similar in dimensions to the Beat, which could lead to an identity crisis if launched here.

Does not look like the new generation Chevy's with bold front ends. This looks much more subtle.

Looks a lot sedate than the UV-A showcased in a recent auto show. Still loads better than the current one that sells in India. Hope to see it in India soon.

The design seems to be similar to Beat and this might lead to low sale.If they want to sell this in India then they need to change the tail tight and the back door handle form c pillar to the doors to differentiate.

Its definitely bigger than the Beat, and is much chunkier! This is one handsome and proportionate looking hatch.Miles ahead of the front heavy, ungainly Beat!

This is the production version of the Aveo RS concept.

The tail lamp cluster looks similar of 2nd Generation Santro. But i hope it will look as smashing as Beat when it launch.

Looks like the flattened version of beat..... The rear is almost similar to the beat, though the front looks different.
It will be interesting which engines they plonk into this. But looks much bolder than the current Aveo, which looks quite boring!

I am sure this is MOST definitely going to be the case. Both the old & new will be sold side-by-side. Beat's entry into the market has not made the Spark move out of the way. Ironically the discounts on the Spark have been actually cut after the Beat was launched.
Sir, each & every manuf. in India knows that discontinuing a model can prove to be disastrous. Ask Toyota & they will also nod their heads in agreement.

The rear door handle is also like Beat's. Will the sedan version too have the same design? That would be odd!

The exterior of current Uva still look good to me, very subtle and very contemporary. Its in the interiors the real problem lies. However the Aveo hatch being sold in Europe and USA addresses this issue (the dash design is too good). I always thought we will get that sooner or later but it seems that GM has decided to give it a miss here and treat us with ALL NEW UVA.

The rear looks like beat, but the car looks bigger in proportion to Beat. But the design theme resembles the beat quite a bit
