Koenigsegg Quant unveiled at Geneva

Koenigsegg's take on the four-seater segment. It's a gull-winged concept but that isn't the main attention-grabber. The car is ALL ELECTRIC! Yes, you read that right. An all electirc Koenigsegg!

It has a battery pack that helps it achieve power of 512 BHP, and a 0-100 time of 5.2 seconds. Largely based on solar energy, the Quant’s shell is covered in a skin of ultra-thin photovoltaic cells.

Enjoy.

What a unique car.everybody is going green.I hate to see the day when lamborghini will come out with a hybrid or a fuel cell version.Unfortunately the day is no too far.
Other than that the quant looks sleek with a strange rear windscreen design.

IMO the car is not a very pleasent site. One of those DC modified kit cars.May be they need the surface area for the solar energy.Anyways, i understand the the whole green revolution but koenigsegg do you have to.leave it to the toyota's and hond'a of the world.

Nice to see some eco-saving variations in the speed demons section.

leave it to the Toyotas and Hondas? why? what denies them the right to implement ideas?

I think what he meant was that they should concentrate more on making what they make best: super-fast supercars.

I normally like Koenigsegg cars and their design.

blacmagic: Nobody is denying nobody here.In case you dont know , koenigsegg makes one of the most successful and brilliant super car in todays time.Which can and does give the lambo and ferrari a run for their money. And thats no small achievement. If they can do that it means they are really good and know what they doing. They should stick to it.Thats all.If they want to do a green car they have all the right to do it.Its called an opinion.

f450:thanks for understanding what i am trying to say man.

the rear seems a little out of place.rest i feel koenig has done a really commendable job as hybrids and solar cars are infact the future.and who says this car is slow?512 bhp and 0-100 in sub 6 seconds is no way slow by an alternative standard.

im not impressed by the car.years back Keonisegg was featured in BBC Top Gear Video and it looked stellar with Jeremy Clarkson literally stripping the gears of the car.
This looksmore like a modded car.

bigron, what I asked is called a question and Im also well aware of Koenigsegg. it's not exactly like theyve said "right. we are gonna stop building supercars and make bug-like thingies on wheels that run off sunlight". it was an idea and theyve implemented it. which was my point. everybody has to start somewhere. who knows? maybe they will give the Hondas and Toyotas a run for their money too some day?
