Rehaan,

Actually I saw a cl-65 this color at the NY autoshow which is why I thought it was a cl. I have a pic of the car but I can't log into my school web server to post it. There was a board next to the car that said CL-65, but that could have been wrong, oh well. There was such a crowd it was tough getting good pics of the cars.

Hey VTEC11,

I believe there was a CL65 as well as a SL65 there amongst the CLS500, 300SL gullwing and SLR.

well thegermans are crazy and i love them and the amount of technology that goes into this car is minboggling but only the germans could have pulled it off, or the Japs. the question is where does this end?
the next version of sl from amg will shave off another 0.01 sec of the previous one for 0-60 mph and will probably do 330 kmph but you wont know because it will be limited to 250 kmph. and around a track the sl65 will probably handle as well as the sl 55, and might not be that much faster too around the track. so what's the point?

Well it depends on which track!... but the SL65 has the handling disagvantage...because it has 4 more cylinders, plus those twin turbos hanging out over the front axle!

well thats what i thought, but AMG are smart enough to make subtle tweaks to the ABC and ESP to make sure that the sl65 doesnt get notorious for being a bad handler.

Well im not saying that it will be a bad handler, just that it wont be as "light" (hahaha) as the SL55.
I agree that merc & amg have probably made corrections for this added weight hung out there, but as they say "prevention is better than cure"

Guys they have tweaked the ABC completely.... and used a few carbon fibre parts, also the suspension is the nurbering suspension which they use in some DTM cars... thought not exactly the same

Gotta love those wheels. My favorite alloys have always been regular five spokes...and these take the cake.

I dont like many oem wheels, but these are nice...I love after market wheels, I have read that to save on weight which is a big factor when going around the track and 0-60 as well as 1/4 mile..people put the best after market wheels that there are..oem just dont cut it..i think mb has 6000$ wheels which might be light but imagine under 20 lb wheels with a diameter for 19" or even 20" crazi haah!!

I know forged wheels save a lot of weight and better your time on the 1/4 mile buy .3-.4 seconds.. or even more with just a losss of 20 lbs or something like that from each wheel..so I am sure you can make this car better with the best after market wheels and dec the 0-60 by another .1 or .15

anyhow..I think this car is a waste or the price inc(50k USD over 55)..even though it will sell nicely..what to do..too many rich ppl who are old and just care to own whatever is out there...

its even more expensive than the 360 F1 CS i think...and almost as expesnive as murcielago with the options..now thats wack..

the car is brilliant buts its main problem is guess what.getting the power down on the tarmac.it can do a Quater mile run in 11.5 secs.
