Russian Hot Rods!

Source:DUB Daily|The Official DUB Magazine Blog
A Russian tuning house converted a Cadillac Escalade EXT into a custom GAZ-51 type pickup. This is a sweet looking ride!

The Volga V12 Coupe is hand-built by a Moscow firm called A:Level. The body styling is straight from the ’50s and finished in black. However, don’t let the styling fool you… the underpinnings and interior are from a BMW 850, and the engine… that too is a BMW V12. CRAZY! The V12, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, produces 380bhp and 406lb ft of torque, and accelerates this heavy mongrel from 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds… that’s no 1950’s mobile

One more russian prototype based on well known after WWII GAZ Pobeda M20 and S-class Mersedes. This Hot Rod build in St-Petersburg 2004.

This thread is awesome, thank you for sharing. Those are some amazing vehicles, I had no idea they were producing cars like that. I really enjoy the custom swaps and builds. I can appreciate the engineering aspect that goes into rebuilding them. Job well done to those that built those vehicles, that is awesome!

Amazing pics from Russia.
I still feel Russia lives in Cold age and this is a testimony of their modern taste and engineering skills on automobiles.

The Volga V12 has unbelievable character. That's really my kind of car, I'd have never imagined a Russian tuner to come up with something so impressive. Nice work man.

I agree with GTO. The Volga sure is a stunner. Has so much character and appeals to me more than the others.

Volga looks outstanding, i was thinking can an amby be done in similar fashion. not that i am a great fan of amby and padmini, but i think its quite doo-able.

if there was car made for me, it would be this volga. What a lovely design. Beautifull.

Ya some one just spelt thr right words, it reminds everyone of the cold war. I can clearly visualize a sniper getting down this ride, opening the boot, carrying his bag which has a magnum rifle, assacinate his enemy then get in this car and drive back safely.

mean ride this one.

cheers,
ac

What an amazing looking car. That car with those looks and just a 150bhp engine also did it for me. However the specs and interiors are just mind boggling. However, I bet it handles like a skateboard.

I'd like the TopGear trio to report on these Russian Rods. Am sure it will be hillarious.

I always wondered why no one in India has build a really fast and hot looking Hot Rod. Though I would not do that to an Amby. There are so many Classic Imports from the 50s one can make use for for such a project. I hope Karl and others dont see my post

The ambirod by DC comes close to what you're asking for. The indian Hot Rod. What other car can really be a donor car? the premier padmini?..naah..the Gazel? the herald?...naah..too flimsy...the list ends right there.

The Ambierod's ugly and overdone. The design is not very cohesive. The front end looks smashing though.I would have prefered something classic and simple.More on the lines of my sorry sketch!!

Sorry became a tad exaggerated there, esp when I thought of the TG trio.

Humm - I dont see any Amby lines on that sketch. The lines of the car should be the same, little tinkering here and there. Making it a 2 door etc is fine.

Closest to a Amby HotRod on TeamBhp would be Rudra's Amby.
