Brabus tunes 2010 Mercedes E Class Coupe to 462hp

Source:TopCarZone

The new Mercedes E-Class Coupe just went on sale and BRABUS have already presented an extensive tuning program for the new two-door.

The pinnacle of the available performance tuning is the BRABUS 6.1 displacement engine. It has a rated power output of 462 hp (456 bhp) / 340 kW and propels the E 500 (US: E550) to an impressive top speed of 315 km/h (196 mph). Also on offer is an aerodynamic-enhancement program that was developed in the wind tunnel. Further highlights are custom-tailored wheels up to 20 inches in diameter, sporty yet comfortable suspension solutions and exclusive interior options.

Hamann Scaglietti

Hamann. Again. This time the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

Comprises of an aero package, a new stainless steel exhaust system, fresh alloys and stiffened springs, not to mention an upgraded chassis with lowered ride height for enhanced handling. Hamann's custom Edition Race three-piece forged-alloy wheels complete the handling upgrade. The tyres are either:

front 9.0 J x 20” / rear 12.5 J x 20” - 245/35 ZR 20 / 335/30 ZR20
or

front 9.0 J x 21” / rear 12.0 J x 21” - 245/30 ZR 21 / 345/25 ZR21

The aero body kit includes a front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. The components can be ordered in fiberglass or carbon-Kevlar.

No changes to the engine though. Apparently Hamann thought the 540 BHP from the normal Ferrari engine was powerful enough. Or they realised that you never mess with a Ferrari's engine.

The 612 Scaglietti can be adapted to the customer's individual specifications, from full leather to a choice of multimedia configurations (including a Playstation apparently. Yeah right, like there's that much space in the rear).

Hamann Phantom

Hamann have done the unthinkable, they've given their treatment to the king of all cars- the Rolls Royce Phantom!!!!

Not many details have been disclosed yet but the most obvious change is in the wheels department. The Hamann Phantom gets massive 23-inch wheels instead of the normal 21-inch ones.

Engine has been tweaked to give out 535hp (394kW) instead of 460hp (338kW). Peak torque is also increased from 720Nm (531lb ft) to 835Nm (622lb ft).

Top speed? 300km/h. But you won't feel it, because it's a Phantom.
0-100 in exactly five seconds.

And just so that you feel all the power, guess what Hamann gives the car? A sports steering wheel. No joke. A sports steering wheel in a Phantom.

P.S.: Similar treatment is given to the DHC too...

Air Force Cars

The latest organisation to join the professional tuning circuit after Hamann, Novitec etc. is............the U.S. Air Force!!

To encourage young Americans to sign up to defend the country, the Air Force has modified two traditional American (notice the patriotism) muscle cars: the Dodge Challenger and the Ford Mustang.

The first of these two is the Ford Mustang "X-1" as it's called. It's given a matte white paintjob and the engine is modified to give out 500 BHP. Scissor doors are an obvious addition, considering how flight doors work.

Enough about the exterior though, the real thrill of the car lies inside. The interior is modelled after a fighter jet cockpit. The car is only a one seater, and get this: even that one seat is an ejection seat!!! The center console consists of a "flight stick" instead of a steering wheel, and the pedals are on either side. So you end up sitting in the middle of the car, just like in a flight. There are three "advanced instrumentation panels" which include monitors that show night- and thermal-vision almost making the windshield obsolete! Still hard to believe? Have a look at this video:

Dodge Challenger Vapor

The second car is the Dodge Challenger Vapor. This car is given a "radar-absorbing" stealth-black paintjob. And to complete the "stealth mode", the car is given a stealth exhaust that lets the vehicle run in near silence. But what good is a muscle car without the roar? Therefore an option is added in which the driver can open the headers and make an aggressive engine noise. Best of both worlds? You bet.

And just to prove that U.S. military security is as tight they say it is, the Vapor requires biometric verification to gain entry to the driver compartment. As with the X-1, the Vapor also gets night and thermal vision, except this time it is projected onto the windshield.

And here's the killer: in case you're stuck in a James Bond kind of situation. you can still command the vehicle from a remote control system modeled after the Air Force's Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The remote system can be accessed worldwide through the internet.

Think it's too sci-fi? Here's the video:

Is that the Scuderia Spider? Is it only modified externally or have they made changes to that incredible engine also?

yup, that's the Scuderia Spider 16M. The engine of this very special 16M is outfitted with a twin supercharger system that gives a horsepower rating of 696hp! The suspension now features a hydraulic coil-over system that raises the nose of the car by just over 1.5 inches at the push of a button — making speed bumps and driveways a lot less intimidating.

There's also a 717bhp F430 Scuderia by Novitec! It has a top speed of just over 215 mph. Here are some pics...
