Mitsubishi launches Lancer EVO X FQ-400 in the UK-mitsubishifq40009.jpg

The tenth version of Mitsubishi’s iconic Lancer Evolution models has a new performance flagship model to top its range, the FQ-400.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400 is the fastest and most extreme version of Mitsubishi’s motorsport derived machine. With 403bhp and 387lb.ft of torque on offer from its advanced, lightweight aluminium 2.0-litre turbocharged MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control) petrol engine the FQ-400 is able to reach 62mph from standstill in an estimated 3.8 seconds before reaching an electronically limited 155mph – where permitted.

Thats something to dream of, More details on the source link

Custom-made engine upgrades to unleash 405bhp and 400lb.ft of torque, a bespoke aerodynamic package, an Alcon 6 pot Monoblock braking system and much more, the Lancer Evolution FQ 400 truly is an Evolution.

They call this a supercar slayer!

I hope Top Gear puts this car on their track and times it. Would love to know how fast it actually is.

WOW WOW WOW! Will silence all of those who claimed the X has gone softer than the IX. 50,000 quid is a heck of a lot of money for a Mitsu though (used Nissan GT-R anyone?). But who cares, this is a Ferrari killer as good as they come. Such a refreshing approach in times when everyones only talking about going green, the Prius and the like.

P.S. : Thanks to the rules, I can't type it here. But everyone knows what the "FQ" in this cars name stands for right?

IMO the cedia has absolutely nothing to do with the evo range/platform.

I find it a wasteful exercize primarily because
1) It will have very short service intervals, like it is with every extreme EVO.
2) Turbo lag would be worse.
3) The fuel consumption
3) At 49,999 pounds why not go for the Nissan GTR for a couple of thousand quids more. Bear in mind that Nissan GTR is a supercar slayer in every sense of the word, be it straightline performance or corners. A four door saloon which is faster than all the hypercars and even the track tuned Ferrari F430 Scuderia.

Buying a car is rarely done with your head. It's with your heart. The EVO looks fantastic. And lots and lots of people(yours truly included) would buy the EVO in a heartbeat.

If everyone bought cars with their heads, it would be a sad sad world. No Paganis, no Veyrons, no Lambos!
