This thing is ugly... The current gen looks better than this one... Looks more like an minivan than an suv.. Even the tires are those of a minivan... The only good part about this Ml is that wide grill in the front.. Its a disappointment.. i was looking forward to this car...

Mercedes-Benz will launch its 2012 M-Class crossover in the United States this fall, complete with a range of four- and six-cylinder engines as well as some styling updates. GLobally, the M-Class will be initially offered in ML250 Bluetec, ML350 Bluetec and ML350 BlueEfficiency designations, all of which are mated to 4Matic all-wheel drive. Hybrid and AMG variants are also said to be in the works.

The base ML250 will be powered by a 2.1-liter diesel four-cylinder, rated at 204 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, while the ML350 Bluetec uses Merc's revised 3.0-liter diesel V6, good for 398 hp and 457 lb-ft. The gas-powered ML350 BlueEfficiency uses the direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 now found in the C- and E-Class vehicles, generating 306 hp and 273 lb-ft in this application. All three engines will be mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, it's the usual smattering of Mercedes-Benz style and technology, though we like how things have been greatly smoothed out versus the current ML. In addition, the COMAND infotainment system has been updated for 2012, and now offers Internet access.

Oh, no i was looking forward to the new M class to take the fighting to the Audi fort, but look what they have done to the rear.
Stuttgart has made it KOREAN. I mean the rear lights looks nothing than Korean design.

Personally, I think the design on this looks fantastic. Much better than the current one. Even the interiors, look much more worth its price. And a 3.0 400bhp diesel?

The interiors on this are fantastic, especially in the photo seen on worldcarfans.com with the quilted leather. This car is certainly slightly softer in appearance than the current generation ML, but it just appears so much better in quality.

Oh, and as akshay mentioned, the circa 400bhp 3 liter diesel sounds insane!

Agreed it looks better than the current one , but c'mon guys. Don't tell about the rear lights.Or is it only me who think it's inappropriately designed for the ML?

I think it suits the New Mercedes Design Language PErfectly. Lovely car. Im sure we will see her on our shores in 6 months.

Looks beautiful! Bit softer in comparison to the competitors. Had seen the test mule and this M-class is low, lower than the current one. Was looking sporty even with the camouflage. Now let's wait for the M63

Hey guys, the 3-liter V6 is 298 BHP. Not 398 as mentioned. That's what I belive. The ML500 (550 as it's called in the States) currently puts out ~350 BHP using a 5.5liter V8.

Goes well with the current Merc design language and seems to look less cluttered both inside and out and yet more modern.

I like the look of this though I did like the one before the current one even more with the tyre up on the back. But yes this does match the rest of the range much better, and has the required sharp edges.
