@Rage,

On the one end, the competition has decided to take on Maruti's bread-and-butter, the hatchback segment while on the other Maruti Suzuki is perhaps is moving up the segment and will be exporting Kizashi as a CBU model from Japan that the company unveiled in the 10th auto expo in January in the Capital.
In fact, Kizashi is expected to be the flagship model of the auto major in the D-segment and will be making its debut in the last quarter of the current calendar year. With counterparts like Volkswagen, Honda, Toyota, Ford, and GM planning to up their ante in the hatchback segment, Maruti Suzuki is trying to capture the segment of the Passat, Camry and Accord.
The product is expected to be priced in the Rs. 12-14 lakh bracket making it the most expensive sedan being sold by Maruti Suzuki in the Indian market.
Sources confirm that the current plan is to import is as a CBU model and the company will later consider the option of importing the CKD kits, depending on the market demand.
Notably, Maruti Suzuki sold more than one million units in the last fiscal and it is also expecting a healthy growth in the current fiscal.

PS: I'd think I would wait for it. Think I have affinity for the Maruti (suzuki) brand. Standard equipment includes FWD and a 2.4 liter engine developing 185 hp and 170 lb/ft of torque. Available transmissions are a 6 speed/CVT. Sounds swwweeeet

I got a glimpse of this car on a week old edition of THE HINDU chennai. It was definitely love at first site and since then i have been researching no it, to figure out when its gonna get launched in India and stuff. Would love to get my hands on it for a test drive.
Awesome looks, so just the TD and on road price left to help me take the plunge.

But does anyone know when its gonna be launched in India ? Any possibility of it getting modified into a dirty looking car to be launched by maruti in India?

Love the design. Looks like a much better grown up version of the SX4.

And that's exactly one of the reasons it may not be able to justify the "premium car" and "premium price tag" that dangles on it. It could if only they had a car sold in the price difference gap.

This car sure looks good. Quite sporty too.

As for the engine options, any possibility of a Volkswagen petrol/diesel motor finding its way under the hood??

Regards.

Guys, I have almost convinced my dad to buy this car if the price falls in the budget. Anyone with any idea of the price?

It would be priced in Civic/Laura territory.

Woah! 3 rotary dials on the steering wheel itself!! Thats a first!

Cabin looks neat and good. Orange backlit dials looks great on the grey interiors. Need more shots of the back seat though.
