Re: New 2012 Fiat Palio?

I was under the impression that Fiat were mulling over bringing the Panda into our market. Honestly, I believe the panda would make much more sense in a country like India, that resembles a war-zone during peak hours.

Plus, I believe that the Palio would probably flop, just because of that 'Palio' badge at the back. Don't get me wrong, the Palio that was sold in India is an incredible car, and performed decently in our market too. But there are far too many issues with it that might put off people, despite the new Palio being all new.

I'd say, India would be better off with the introduction of the Panda, rather than this Palio.

Re: New 2012 Fiat Palio?

hmm...the front bumper/grille reminds me of the i10. Looks way better without that chrome strip as illustrated above. Interiors are smart, simple and spartan. As for the Palio making it to India, Fiat needs to decide how they are going to sell & service their cars going forward.

Re: New 2012 Fiat Palio?

yeah i totally agree, palio is great car but the poor image that it suffered from the mass will not be able to pull the new palio to a amazing sales chart, what they need is now a totall new car like panda and re branding of its image and service centres.

Re: New 2012 Fiat Palio?

Does anybody have any idea if FIAT is still rolling out the Palio's, I happened to see a Red Palio in KR Road on saturday with a For Regn sticker on.

Another pic from the FB page of Indian Autos Blog. The new Palio looks more feminine. There is a bit of i10 on it too.

I am drooling !!!

The interiors seems top notch and simply loved the tinge of red on the speedo console...

Re: New 2012 Fiat Palio?

Bring it to India and place it below 5 lakhs, fiat will have a winner in there hands.Bring it on and pit it against the maruthi's. A well build european car under 5 lakhs is a relatively good bargain.

Or Fiat can spend an extra 100 rupees and bring the same car in but avoid all the issues mentioned above. Just remove the Palio badge and give it a new name. Just make sure to change the name in the warranty and service booklet as well and then there are no more memories of the old Palio and the associated issues with the old car.

Re: New 2012 Fiat Palio?

Too bad cars don't grow out of their ugly duckling phase.

If i could have had a say, i would have kept the back from the old gen and the front from the Stile

But even without that, i think the old Palio was a stunner compared to this homely cousin!

Aah well, back to polishing me ole GTX then
