New wilder 911 GT3 RS revealed

Autocar - Porsche 911 GT3 RS launched

This is what Porsche is calling “the most sporting 911 yet”: the new GT3 RS.
The homologation special is fitted with the same 3.8-litre flat six as the GT3, but it has 444bhp instead of 429bhp, making it 35bhp pokier than the old RS.

The latest GT3 RS gets wider tracks at the front and rear (aided by extended front wheel arches) and a huge carbonfibre rear wing with aluminium supports.
The naturally aspirated engine, which has a specific output of more than 113bhp per litre, is mated to a low-ratio, short-shift six-speed manual gearbox.
A lithium ion starter battery will be available instead of the standard unit, reducing the kerb weight by 10kg.
Porsche is clearly aiming to make this one of the wildest 911s ever, with bright decals all over the bodywork.
The GT3 RS goes on sale in the UK in 2010, priced from £100,760.

Porsche has overdone it. I guess the first thing customers would do is to get a new paint job.

The paint scheme on the previous GT3RS was awesome. Somehow Porsche forgot that they had to evolve it.

I'm sure the car is good, but those colours make it look like a toy car, bad choice of colours.

I love the OTT look of this Porsche!! While I like the old GT3 RS, I've never lusted over it. This is a different issue!

Jeremy Clarkson keeps grumbling that Porsche is too german. This should change his mind! In the words of Top Gear, it looks like the Porsche guys did the basic design and then called in a bunch of 10 years old to add the finishing touches!

I like the looks of the GT3 RS. The lipstic per se doesnt seem to be the issue but rather the color of the lipstick. isuppose white or black on the grey of the rest of the car would have made this car look uber hot.

It looks all set to set the tracks on fire! But stay there too..because that hack-saw like spoiler and red livery will stick out like a sore thumb on public roads!
It will look better with a sober paintjob!

Well looks like the new one is available in more than just white so that's a start. And I think you can get black for the wheels and decal thingys rather than red.

IMO, this is wild and powerful. But it doesn't seem very impressive to the common man. No wonder they've tagged it 'wild'. Only a handful of individuals would like this!
Couldn't complain about the power boost, though.
