Next Murciélago gets in shape!!

Autoblog — We Obsessively Cover The Auto Industry

Meet the next ultimate Lambo!
According to a new report in Auto Express, there are a lot of changes planned for the next Lamborghini Murcielago. Among them all, the one that claimed most of our attention was that the next boss bull will "be wider and longer." The length isn't such a big deal, but the current LP640 already approaches the opposite of narrow, and it's already superbly planted. If that part is true, we don't know what the extra width would do except to make the car... well, wider.

Design-wise, if the publication's rendering is to be believed, the Murci will get a lot of Gallardo and Reventón up front. A trim strip of LEDs (458 Italia, anyone?) would replace the current multi-lamp unit, in front and back. The front intakes look to be lifted straight from its littler sibling, and the rear screams "Estoque!" – in a good way.

AE suggests that the construction will be Audi spaceframe-esque, with a complete carbon fiber body (shedding the current steel roof and doors). With less weight and an expected jump to 700 horsepower, that ought to be enough to get the Murci to 60 mph in three ticks of the second-hand. AE posits that the car will retain its four-wheel-drive and will adopt stop-start and energy regeneration, the first in the family to do so. Expect to see it – and hear it roaring to life at valet stands everywhere– in 2012

What a wicked looking rear! Anymore sharp edges on the Murci and it will probably go stealth.

Holy smokes!!! Now this is getting crazy! making the Lambo wider, and giving it the Estoque rear end only makes it look like a fighter plane (if the Reventon wasn't enough!?!). Boy..I'd love to see this in person!

No No it looks hideous.Take the reventon front and the estoque rear and whoa a new lambo.
They need to come up with a more original design, this looks too generic and somehow a bit forced.

For a rendering of a very wide car, that's a pretty narrow first pic.

One Element that the next LP MUST HAVE is this amazing slope down the window.

Wow! The Lambo sure looks wicked. The mirrors, grill, chick wheels, headlamps.
B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L is a lesser term/adj here.

This is just a rendition done over probably a 640 in PS, the reality may be more classy than this. I didnt understand the reasoning of widening and lengthening it, already its big than most of the competitors.

Thats some wicked rendering there. I just love the rear. If this is the way of the furture, all upcoming Lambos will be looking like jet fighter planes on wheels. 700 BHP, there's absolutely no stopping these guys.

Although I think it won't be quite this outrageous when released, its brilliant nontheless. They have the Murcielago DNA but it still looks significantly different from the current one. Hard to do both but Lambo have got it perfect. Great job
