ID:595 is indeed a 1952-54 Alfa Romeo Matta (officially Alfa Romeo 1900M).
There were two versions made
Autovettura da Ricognizione AR51 (Military)
and Autovettura da Ricognizione AR52 (Civilian).

Quite unlike our Willys Jeep CJ-3B (and its Mahindra petrol offspring) with the overhead intake valve and exhaust valve-in-head,
the Alfa-Romeo Matta even back in 1951, had a refined double-overhead camshaft high-torque 1884 cc 65 bhp engine with dry sump lubrication.

The Willys Jeep CJ-3B had the Hurricane F-head (overhead intake valves, side exhaust valves).

The horse-cart leaf springs of the Willys Jeep were replaced by independent torsion-bar front suspension setup.

The rear-axle has a limited slip differential, lockable by the driver via a lever.

However, unlike the Willys, the Alfa-Romeo Matta can only be driven in low-ratio four-wheel-drive. There is no 1:1 four-wheel-drive possible.

Here is an Alfa-Romeo Matta resolutely chewing its way up a staircase...

Thats not the 917 is the 914.The 917 was porsche Le mans winning racer.
