Its a Porsche 912.It was a model made by porsche from from 1965- 1969.This model is essentially a porsche 911 but with the 4 cylinder engine of the 356.It was introduced to as to offer customers a chance own a porsche 911 shape car albeit much cheaper.Initially the 912 outsold the 911 by a considerable margin. It has very little visual difference to the 911 and hence its hard to spot.

Guess the Make and Model of this four-door sedan.
The shape of the stamped steel-wheel was unique.

The two pictures are a couple of years apart in model-year,
but of the same make and model.

Official Guess the car Thread (Please see rules on first page!)-whatsmynamees1.jpg

The grey and white police car above has flag mirrors, whereas the pearl silver sedan below has sail mirrors, body side rub strips and different polyurethane bumpers.

Do also guess either or both of the two model years.

ID:615; 1988 & 1992 Chevrolet Opala

Dear friends:
It has been long enough, so let me open the envelope on this one.

ID:615 is not a Volvo nor a Ford of any kind.

It is a GM car.
This is a Chevrolet Opala made in Brazil.

Official Guess the car Thread (Please see rules on first page!)-1988chevroletopala.jpg

The police patrol car is a 1988 Chevrolet Opala of Brazil's largest state police force: the Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo (São Paulo State Military Police)

The pearl silver sedan in the second pic is a 1992 Chevrolet Opala LS.

GM do Brasil S.A. sold Chevrolet Opalas from 1969 to 1992.

The Opala was derived from the German Opel Rekord and Commodore, but with Pontiac and Chevrolet 4-cylinder 2.5 litre and 6-cylinder 3.7 litre engines from GM USA.

Opalas were extensively used as taxis and police squad cars, being very reliable and easy to maintain. Even Brazilian stock car racing aficionados found the American 4- and 6-cylinder engines easy to modify for racing.

Quote:
Opal is an amorphous non-crystalline hydrated silica gel containing 3% to 20% water.
Like butterfly wings, Opal is iridiscent -- it changes hue with the viewing angle.

But some Brazilians also think that the word Opala was a portmanteau-word
made by blending Opel and Impala.
Thanks for your patience and indulgence.

Guess the year, make and model of this black beater.

She comes from simpler, more innocent times times of plenty, when fuel was cheaper.
Her headliner is ripped and she has a few bird droppings on her,
but many a fellow team-BHPian, I'm sure, wouldn't mind cruising the seaface boulevard in her.

ID : 616:
Front parking light cluster looks very similar to the Packard but that curved parking lamp extending to the sides, the small fin at the rear and the windscreen all scream 58 Ford. The wheel caps even but which one is it? Why are there no chrome trims?
Ford Custom?

ID:616; 1958 Ford Fairlane

scooby05 You're right, she's a Ford
Gogi, You're right she's a 58 Ford Custom.
agspins, you're right,
ID:616 is a 1958 Ford Fairlane Custom 300 2-door club sedan.

Why are there no chrome trims? The ravages of time and battle-scars probably damaged them and the owner didn't car to replace'em.
And you people still identified her correctly!!
Like so many trim-deprived Padminis seen today what? Doesn't she look sweet without them?

She had quad headlamps and quad tail lights.

This specimen is the cheapie Custom 300 2 door club sedan.
New for 1958 was the 332V8 which replaced the earlier 292V8 and the 352V8 which replaced the earlier 312V8.

The Ford Fairlane was named after the 31,000 sq. ft., 56 room Fairlane Mansion, residence of Henry and Clara Ford in Dearborn, Michigan. Fairlane Mansion is a forested country estate, located on the banks of the Rouge River in Dearborn, embedded in the rust-belt heart of Detroit.

The mansion has its own boathouse. with a pirate cove look to it.

Henry Ford would travel by speedboat from home to his famous Rouge Industrial Complex downstream on the river Rouge.
