Fire Fighter Bike

Hello guys,

Came across this in the news section of the “Institute of Advanced Motorists Magazine, Summer 2009 issue

From the scan the copy is not clear, which is as follows

Quote

The fire service is the one emergency service you’d think might struggle to utilise a motorcycle’s speed, versatility and functionality. Not so, apparently. With a bit of ingenuity, Danish company Fireexpress has equipped a BMW R1200 T as a nimble city firefighter

Two interconnected 25 litre tanks, mounted in the pannier position, are pressurised via a pillion seat mounted cylinder. These tanks are pre-mixed with water and foam to fight different forms of fire via a 30 metre hose. Riders wear a special suit that is comfortable to ride in, but which also contains a breathing apparatus

The unit has the firepower to fight three car fires and suppress a blaze until larger units arrive

Awesome to say the least

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

Excellent, this is exactly what is needed to tackle all these traffic jams and to reach a spot/car which is on fire. Wonder if the fire departments take a note of this and import a few of them into our country for use in our various cities.

Thank you Nair, for this post of yours.

Pretty cool thing to have! I wonder why no one thought about this earlier.Would be so handy to have especially in India where it takes ages to be able to reach a fire caused by an accident.
