Fiat fell to the No. 11 spot from tenth place in the same month a year ago, selling just 15 more cars than Skoda at No. 12.
Fiat is being hurt because its Italian home market, where the brand has a 20 percent market share, is weak. Italian car sales fell by 3 percent last month while the UK, Spanish and French markets showed gains and Germany limited its decline to 1 percent.
