To me, it took A 8 hours to recognize this as an A8. It looks like A4 XXL from all angles. The interior is hard to differentiate from the previous model too. After 7 years, I did expect something different but I am terribly disappointed with the styling. It looks too feminine and meek. Audi dealerships will have hard time selling this, especially after the new XJ which looks very radical and daring.

Moreover, it already looks a bit dated and what will happen after 5 years, is everyone's guess. When will Audi learn to differentiate their cars?
But do you think someone who prefers understated looks would go for the XJ?

Their DRL pattern keeps getting weirder with every new model. I saw a Q5 the other day, and I thought those lights were strange!

Sweetest looking rear! Though it doesn't offer much distinctiveness from the A6.

Looks good. The interior is fantastic. Uber cool.
But the rear is very much like an A4. Dissapointing a bit

One word for this car : Hopeless!

Sorry but Audi loses the game once again it will lag behind the S/7 in a big way, it's just an A4 XXL or XXXL when the LWB is out, gosh Audi stop facelifting your cars and launch new ones *sarcasm*

I'm sorry for double post but what exactly is up with Audi? it's BOD and designers? No imagination? Sorry I'm so angry right now how can they even launch this?

Yeah Interior is great but look at the car? is there any inspiration? I hope in real life this looks atleast 10% better then these pics, or else i'll have to replace the blue W212 with this car,

Oh god help Audi to realize they need to progress and not take a step back! All they do is play with different shapes of LED's in their lights, and then just change the size of everything else depending on the model and there that's a new car!

Oh man thank god last week the F10 was out, it's reason to cheer or else this thing would lead to depression,

The interiors looks best among the three BMW and MB.It gives me a feel of luxury boat.

I think Audi is trying to give us a message that all of their cars belongs to one family by A4 younger son,A6 Elder Son and A8 father

Come on Audi give some new design.

What rubbish. Interior hardly different from the current one, LEDs kill the elegance, the rear is hardly worth talking about. How difficult is it for a company (in as competitive a scenario as the German luxury breed) to realize that the flagship can NOT look about the same as the entry-level sedan ? I doubt this is going to sell. Atleast in India, it won't. I think the LEDs only looked good on the R8, and then worked wonders for the A4. With the A6 / A8, bull.

The last time Mercedes and BMW did something like this was back in the early Nineties, where everything they made looked the same. Of course, that era is the stuff of legends, what with the W124 and the E39, but it ain't gonna work today.

I suppose Audi India will only be relevant as long as the Q5 / Q7 are selling.

I'm sure the inside is very luxurious with all the latest & greatest technological gizmos. Unfortunately, the car looks like a supersized A4. The front end is way too long for this car and gives the overall appearance of a front heavy front wheel drive vehicle. They managed to do a decent job with the current A4 and keeping the front end relatively short, but this new A8 is like a pig's snout. The rear, although size is okay, is a little bland. Fortunately, the taillights in the dark do a decent job to show a little Audi uniqueness.

It has a pretty impressive drag coefficient (.26)!!

First impression for the exterior: 5/10
Interior, much better than outside: 8/10

Bodywork, wheels don't suggest this being the new S8.In fact this looks exactly like the regular A8.Maybe this is just the wolf in sheep's clothing!
