I half agree with him actually.

But I still think Clarkson is right in expecting good quality. If it were a small manufactuer like Pagani or Koenigsegg, it wqould be unfair of him to do so, but it is a major like Ford, and so all the more reason why their car should be absolutely fault free.

But surely he could just have switched to some other immobiliser/alarm company or brand?

Werent JC and Damon Hill chums? Also there was a rumour that Damon worked as the original stig. So it just might be to poke fun at JC.

I guess Jeremy was entitled to do what he did because he felt he didnt get his money's worth or maybe the GT didnt live up to whatever expectations he had of it. One can always criticise when it's not his own money. To each his own.

As for the Stig, the original was an ex-F1 driver called Perry McCarthy, while the current is believed to be a guy named Ben Collins.

Manti.

This raises a very good point... if it were anyone else ASIDE from JC... would ford have taken back the car so easily???.I think not.... at least thats what he had written in his column in top gear mag...someone wanna start a poll to see if FORD INDIA would do such a thing??
but coming back to Damon Hill.... he was a pompus twit( as are all brit driver's) when he was in F1 and I see he still hasnt lost that streak....

If quality was his main concern, why doesnt he rattle Mercedes about his quite unreliable SL55 ? It is evident frequently from his articles that the thing was quite prone to problems. IMO, when everything dies down, they will hand over the vehicle to him.
This is off topic..
But has JC got the boot from the Times because of his Clarksonisms?

Clarkson returns the Ford GT. Hmm... I wonder if it's got anything to do with buying the new M5.
