this is it : "Leaving the line at 1,800 rpm in a futile attempt to tack all 1,100 hp to the ground, the twin-turbocharged Lingenfelter-prepared Corvette logs an 8.94-second, 154-mph quarter-mile time."

"For the untrained eye, this may look much like the stock '97-'03 Corvette engine bay. But, in fact, this LS1 engine is outfitted with twin ball-bearing turbochargers netting close to 1,100 hp."

Yeah I had known about Lingenfelter vettes, but man..just never thought to look further in performance, thats a killer performance and are you sure that is 1.97 and not 2.97? 1.97 is insane..even for a 1100 hp machine..cuz 1000hp veryon which i think is lighter or same weight doesnt even come close..and 240mhp is insanity..I am sure it will perform as a dragster, but what about on the track, have u seen any info of it around the track, cuz i would be really curious..

insane machine

no printing mistake in here... its 1.97 sec... and 240+mph... hell breaks loose...
...got no idea about it on the track... anyway will check it out.

Had seen this car on TV once. Racing against an F16 fighter jet!! The Vette won in acceleration.

GTO

I have not seen this in many cars, but when this or any heavily moded vettes launch the front portion of the car really lifts up..as you can see in this pic as well as in many other videos i have seen..

why is that?

I have not seen that happen with a viper or simialr cars?

It's very similar to doing a wheelie on a bike. For that you will need tons of torque and very grippy tyres. And RWD ofcourse.

Could be due to many reasons......
Either the cars don't have the kind of torque required to lift the front. Tyrs are not grippy enuf.

But i feel it's the lenght of the car that makes it really diff. Longer the car, more the torque required to lift it.
